No tea cups! The only tea cups in this world are cups meant to hold tea! No seriously though, do not buy from someone who is advertising their dogs as this. The breed standard for a Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie) can be found at www.akc.org. The best way to find yourself a good breed standard yorkie is to research the breed. Know what to expect in appearance. When you talk to a breeder ask questions and expect them to answer without any irratation. Find out how big are the parents? Parents should preferrable both be there on site. Buy only AKC registered puppies this way you know they are purebred. It is very hard to distinguish what is what when they are little tiny puppies. Go and visit a lot of different puppies and parents. Get a "feel" for what these puppies look like and compare parents. If the father or mother is not on site ask to look at their pedigree. Are there champions in their bloodlines? You want to find a breeder who is breeding to better the breed. Were the parents genetically tested for inheritable defects? A breeder who will take time with you and who will educate you is much more trustworthy than one who will not. Talk to your vet about what size a puppy who is 8, 10, 12 weeks old should be and what weight that will put your puppy on track for. There are also puppy weight charts that you can use to do a comparison, however, those are only approximate guesstamates. Listen to your gut and don't buy on impulse. Never meet a breeder who only wants to meet away from their residence where the parents or puppies are. Depending on where you live you can expect to pay anywhere from $600-1,000+ for an AKC Yorkshire Terrier. Best of luck in finding a "healthy" puppy.

.. There is no such thing as a "tea cup" yorkie, or poodle, or any other breed. Even if your best friend, or your mother owns one!! They simply do not exist. "Tea-cup" is just a cutesy name give by unethical breeders to drive up the price of their puppies. There is only one kind of "Yorkshire Terrier" that is recognized by the AKC, and that is the Yorkshire Terrier! Some yorkies are under 3 pounds, and some are way over the 7 pound limit, but they are all still Yorkshire Terriers. The smaller or larger ones sometimes happen in a litter, but it is not something that good breeders try to produce. The very tiny ones are often frail, and do not have as long of a lifespan as their larger siblings. They often have a multitude of health problems. Who would want to pay more money for that? Other "rare" and EXPENSIVE yorkies are advertised as "red, chocolate, cutesy-faced, doll faced, or baby dolls". If you see these kinds of terms in any breeders ad's or website, be wary of that breeder, who is most likely trying to cheat you. Most good breeders never, ever, advertise their litters, there is no need to. They have a waiting list for their pups, and are well known in their communities.

There is no such thing as a 'Tea Cup', it is a marketing ploy used by unethical non-registered Breeders.

Do not buy a 'Tea Cup' dog, you are buying a runt or a dog produced by mating a non-standard or runt to another.

You end up with poor health in the future.

Just get a regular Yorkie.

Okay once again there is no such thing as a teacup anything it is just a term used by unscurpulous breeders to charge you more for the dog . I would not pay over 600.00 for a small yorkie and if you do get a runt please be advised that those dogs run a higher chance of being unhealthy all their lives. but anyway good luck and happy holidays.

a "teacup" yorkie isn't a sturdy determination for a dogs, they look a kit of respiration, coronary heart, and bone themes. the fee of a teacup yorkie (no longer a real breed, basically a no longer difficulty-unfastened miniature)is around $900-$1200, corresponding to a classic yorkie. i could fairly reccomend getting the traditional sized dogs as a replace of a mini

Maybe $500- $1000. But 'Tea Cup' dogs are just runts of litters & there is a 25% chance your dog dying.

Hope this helped & Good luck
