Would you, as an employer, want to employ someone who is not just a few pounds overweight, but has a real problem, possibly they are out of breath with the slightest exertion or (as I have seen and experienced) have difficulty in sitting in the chairs or perhaps standing for too long.
I am not excusing this problem but perhaps its the employers and not the obese who are the problem.

I must add that I am one of the lucky ones and dont have a weight problem but...walk a mile in their shoes I say!

Hello, are there any visual indications that can point out whether or not you are underweight. I am not talking about drastically underweight which is very obviously I am more talking about being slightly underweight. Please don't refer me to bmi tables as I find them very unhelpful, unreliable as weight oscillates 8lbs in 1 day (i.e. between 18.5 and 19 on the bmi scale), I also look heavier than I am. Just tell me a few signs that may indicate if a person is slightly underweight.

hes athletic and knows all about diet foods but i dont. i have no idea whats ok to eat and not i think i can only eat fruit and veggies so idk.
we run every other day around the orcards which is aot of running and lots of hills then do 5 sets of 20 sit ups 20 push ups and 20 leg lefts and we do the set every day..
but i know theres more i should be doing like with food. i used to be balimic so i was skinny then i gained weight and few months later i was a coke head so i used to take the easy ways to get skinny. now i want to do it for real but idk how.

Hey guys, well I'm sure many people have already asked this kind of question... anyway, well I wanna lose some pounds because I gained a couple from eating junk food and I wanna stop before it gets worse. Any suggestions? I'm only 15 so I can't really go to the gym. I particularly wanna lose weight on my thighs since that's where all the fat goes. Right now I'm 120 pds. so I gained like 5 pds.
Any exercises that can help my thighs and legs?? THANKS. =]
Also, does running on the treadmill make your legs bulky?

The hospital I work at does all kinds of things to help our employees quit smoking (i.e. free classes/support groups, discounted smoking cessation tools--gum, patch, etc.). They also punish employees who smell like smoke while they're at work, and use only designated smoking areas OFF hospital property, punishing those who don't.
Yet this health care organization does little to help and never punishes the numerous morbidly obese employees who work there, when their condition is clearly as great of a health risk. I think it looks peculiar to have doctors, nurses, therapists, and others that look like they've never driven past a donut shop without stopping.
I'm not saying the employees need to look like athletes, but they should at least look like they practice what they preach. I think it would lend more credence to their status as health professionals. Your thoughts?

I really don't see the point of them. They take too much time, especially if you are counting calories. They can become addicting. They can discourage you if you eat something unhealthy and make you give up.....and then binge....and then try again (rinse and repeat).

I think it's simple. You're body speaks to you when it's hungry. Eat when your hungry....not when your bored or emotional. It would be best to get an idea of the portion size you need of course, but keeping track of every ounce and every calorie is ridiculous. If it works for you, then I applaud you (seriously). But, I lost 30lbs without one the healthy way. When I actually tried keeping one, I gained 5lbs.

I have always been really tired, and never wanted to do anthing around the house. I even lost intrest in working on my cars which use to be one of my favorite hobbies. My doctor put me on an antidepressant, but I dont think that is the problem. Now someone has suggested to me to take a multivitamin every day. Does anyone know if this will be of any help?

My basketball coach said it's a proven fact that you should always break a sweat before stretching before working out/exercising. So he had us dribble a basketball up and down the court 30 times, do ladders and stuff like that for 10 minutes, then we finally stretched. Why do you need to break a sweat before stretching?

I work from 9am to 8pm.. and I don't have much time to exercise.. I wanted to know what the best way to drop 15 pounds in 3 weeks would be, with the least amount of exercise possible (it's not that i'm lazy and don't want to do it, I just don't have much time for it..)

Any tips?
