I think the only thing you can do at this age is to eat properly and exercise. The "nurture vs. nature" is a way to tell you that, in nature, your genetics will only allow you to grow, look, be a certain way. The "nurture" part is with the environment. If you have proper nutrition you might reach the high end of your genetic tallness. With poor nutrition cells aren't allowed to grow to their fullest potential.
I have a grandfather (7'1") who married my grandmother (5'0") and I was hoping throughout my childhood I would land somewhere in the middle. My other grandfather is 5'4" and my other grandmother is 5'7" so I figured my odds would be defeated anyway by genetics alone. I grew up in poverty with very poor nutrition and hit my peak height at age 16 when I was 5'4 1/4" only to be even more disappointed going to the doctor at age 19 and being measured at 5'3 1/2" I shrunk. (I'm 25 now and have a feeling I've shrunk a tiny bit more)
On the bright side...being short isn't a bad thing. It might be a little harder to reach objects or complete goals geared towards taller people but it can absolutely be done. :-D
Another good thing about being short, it doesn't have to effect how well you live your life either. :-)
Best wishes to you.

I'm 16 and 5'2". Some days I really hate my height, but other days I'm just happy that I'm healthy. And I'd rather be 5'2" than 6'0" tall. Trust me, being a petite girl is better than being a really tall amazon. And 90% of your height is genetics (if your parents are not too tall, chances are that you won't be too tall). Just keep drinking milk, exercising and staying healthy. And get enough sleep too! Did you know that you only grow when you are sleeping?

ONLY 5'3"? Nothing wrong with that height. You MIGHT grow a little bit at only 16. But odds are you're 5'3" for life... until osteoporosis kicks in and you possibly SHRINK when you're old. In any case, why would you want to be taller? There is no practical, healthy reason to care how tall you are.

Chances are you are as tall as you are going to get. I've known boys who grew taller after they graduated high school but I've never known a girl who did.
You need to start with the attitude that you are as tall as you feel, and then add very high heeled/soled shoes. :-)
No matter what your height is, make others look up to you in other ways, such as your actions, etc. and love yourself for who you are. My grandmother was 4'9" and no one EVER messed with her, and we all loved her dearly.
Good luck.

I think it's just genetics. You still have at least two more years of growing. I'm fully grown at 5'4 I like my height, but short of putting lifts in your shoes or wearing platforms?? I don't think there is anything you can do.
