I am making meatloaf for dinner and all I have is carrots to go with them. How should I cook them. I cut them into pieces that are about 1 1/2 inch long and a little thicker then a pencil. basically into 4's. Now I don't know what to do with them. How long should I boil them and do I put them in while the water is still cold or put them in after it starts boiling. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm making my boyfriend dinner Saturday night, and have never cooked for him. I don't want to spend all day in the kitchen, but I still wanna' impress him. He's a "meat and potatoes" guy, but loves seafood too. There are a million websites that have tons of stuff, but I want one that I KNOW is good, one that someone would recomend because they love it.

I want to make a nice dinner to surprise my boyfriend with tonight. I am a pretty good cook, so I can make most things. Also, he is totally not a picky eater, so pretty much everything is open. Thanks in advance!

I mean when/how do you put in the cornflour (mixed with water) - does that go into the stock/meat/veg once it's all half-way through cooking? I can't seem to get that nice thick 'casserole' taste!

The well-known Kurdish specialty phyllo dough wrapped cardamom-heavy perdaplow is filled with chicken, rice, almonds and golden raisins. Stuffing Preparation - Boil the whole chicken covered with water for 30 minutes. Remove from water and set aside to cool. In a food processor or blender, blend the onion and garlic into a paste, and add salt and pepper. Cook the onion-garlic mixture over medium heat until dry. While the onions cook, de-bone the chicken and shred the meat, then add it to the onion mixture. Add cardamom, rice, almonds, raisins, and egg. Combine thoroughly. 1 whole chicken or equal amount of dices beef, 2 medium onions, 3 cloves garlic (optional?), 1/2 TBS cardamom, 4 cups cooked rice, 1 cup roasted almond (chopped), 1 large egg (also optional?), 1/2 cup golden raisins, salt and pepper to taste - read somewhere that Yale students put a rasberry-yogurt sauce on it. I made sauerbraten and the sauce was great, but the meat was stringy when it fell apart. It was just too much chewing.

After I marinade the meat, can I cook it in the oven uncovered like a regular roast and serve it medium-rare. I would have the flavor and not all that stringy meat that falls apart. Will the meat slice if I do it this way or will it still fall apart from the marinade.

Im looking for a recipe that was on Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee. It aired on August 3rd. She marinated some onions after quartering them and i cant remember anything else. Does any one have this recipe or remember the name of the episode?
