Depends on your taste buds. A recent experiment that turned out to be fantabulous:

- Grab a few Kings Hawaiian Dinner Rolls
- As much butter as your waistline can tolerate (I use "I cannot believe it's not butter" and that works fine too).
- A couple a medium sized garlic cloves
- A smidgen of salt
- Parsely flakes for appearance

Split the rolls in 1/2 but leave them attached.
Spread the butter on. Using room temp butter works best as the rolls are very soft.
Take the chopped garlic, add a tiny bit of salt to it and smash it with the width of your knife or baking spatula until it resembles a fine paste (or keep chunks if that is your pref.)
Add the garlic paste to the buttered bread.
Sprinkle with the parsley.
Throw under the broiler for no more than 3-5 minutes.

This is a quick and yummy way to make fresh garlic bread. It also helped my picky 8-year old eat it. Sure the rolls run on the sweeter side, but they are too good to not experiment with.

The same can be done with regular dinner rolls as well. I prefer this method over a loaf because it allows for more portion control.

A great website for recipes is allrecipes.com

3 bulbs garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Slice the tops off of the garlic bulbs so that the tip of each clove is exposed. Place the bulbs on a baking sheet, and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 30 minutes, or until garlic is soft.

Set the oven to broil. Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally, and place cut side up on a baking sheet.

Squeeze the cloves of garlic from their skins into a medium bowl. Stir in the butter, parsley, and Parmesan cheese until well blended. Spread onto the cut sides of the bread.

Broil for about 5 minutes, until toasted.

Get a nice loaf of fresh bakery bread (french, Italian, Cuban, etc) slice 1/2-3/4 inch thick. Pop them in the broiler for about 2 min (just to heat up the bread), remove from oven. Use a cut clove of garlic and rub it on each piece. Then get some grated parm cheese or any other Italian hard cheese you like and sprinkle it on the bread, a lil salt and pepper. Pop it back in the broiler... and remove when the cheese melts! Viola!!

There are a few ways to make garlice bread. Here are two ways:

Easy Garlic Bread

Split a loaf of french or italian bread in half long-ways. Spread each half with softened or melted butter or olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic salt or garlic powder and parmesan cheese. Broil in the over for a few minutes, until the bread is toasty and slightly golden brown. Feel free to sprinkle herbs on top of the butter as well.

Easy Garlic Bread, version 2

Mix some minced garlic, parmesan cheese, and italian seasoning into some melted or softened butter (or olive oil)
and spread onto a loaf of french o italian bread halved long-ways. Broil in oven until toasty and golden brown. Enjoy!

Good luck!

Take some french bread and cut in half (not as if you were cutting a piece off). Blend some butter, garlic powder, basil, and a dash Cayenne powder (if you want a little twist and only add a little!) with a fork or spoon (mix it good). Spread the mix across the top of each half and put in the oven at 200 degrees until you notice the butter spread melted. Take out and cut pieces and it's ready to serve

Get a loaf of french bread. Slice it but not all the way down. Butter between the slices and garlic powder. Wrap in foil and put in the oven for about 10 minutes at 350. It will be soft inside but crunchy outside. You can also cut the loaf lengthwise in half and spread the butter and garlic that way if you like. :)

I use regular sandwich bread, and turn on the broiler part of my oven, spread butter on the slice of bread and sprinkle it with garlic powder, put it under the broiler for 4-5 minutes or until the edges are brown on the bread.

I just get french bread cut in half, mix butter and some garlic powder (or minced garlic) together, spread it on the bread and put it in the oven for about 15 minutes... Simple and quick
