My husband and I need a new oven. We aren't professional cooks by any means but he is convinced we need a convection oven because they bake more evenly. Are they really worth the extra money? Don't regular ovens bake plenty evenly for a couple who only bakes about once every other month... and when that occurs it's always something that's coming from a box? Thanks in advance for the advice....

I have those bisquits in a tube and I have Krusteaz pancake mix. Which would work better as a substitute? I usually call my Mom but she's away on vacation. Thanks in advance.

i was going to bake my husband a cake for his birthday..i opened everything, put the cake mix in the bowl..only to realize we had no eggs..so i put it away and i wanted to make it today and realized the box was thrown out and garbage picked up yesterday...i have no clue if i'm right, but i think it's betty crocker cake mix..but i really have no idea, are most cake mixes the same? and what do i mix with it..or would i be better off just buying a new box?

Years ago I had been given a recipe for cupcakes that were made from scratch. I remember that they contained chocolate chips and something else that when baked came to the top and formed their own frosting. Have any of you ever heard of these, and if so, does anyone have a recipe they could share?

My garden has produced a ton of tomatos this year. Now what!? I gave a bunch away and I still have a lot. Anyone have any good tomato recipes? How about a good fresh pasta sauce recipe? I have big boy tomatos and grape tomatos.

I have been with my boyfriend for about 17 months and last year for his birthday I made a really big effort because I wanted to really impress him. I cooked a really fancy meal for him (and I'm talking really fancy it took me weeks to prepare) and I had candles, gold stars on the table cloth, a deep red rose, champagne, home cooked everything etc etc.

I want to do the same again this year but I don't know what to cook - it has to meet the same standards as last year and I just don't know how I'm going to do it! Last year I did toast and pate for starters, roast lamb for main and homemade cheesecake for desert.

Any ideas for a menu will be gratefully appreciate.

OK, I'll be very particular here. I need some websites, or your own, no onion, no garlic(sometimes onion will do), no brinjal, tinda, pumpkin, turai, bitter-gourd(karela), parwal, ghiya, lauki, meat, mutton, fish, prawn, etc. recipes. They can be simple or elaborate, any cuisine, easy enough to be prepared at home, so no olives, olive oil, zucchini, lasagne or pasta sheets, or other exotic ingredients please. Pastas, continental, etc recipes are welcomed.
