I would just toss that one out and buy a new one and start over. I think most cakes use different flour so if you were to mix the two...it might not taste right - beside you're baking this for your husband, so you would want it to be perfect. And it doesn't cost that much to buy the stuffs for the cake.
Good luck and happy b-day to you husband.

Not knowing which type of Betty Crocker cake mix it was, they generally use 2 eggs and 1/4 cup oil and (from memory) 1 cup cold water. Beat and bake at 350 until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

I use Betty Crocker cake mix all the time. You need: 1-1/3 cups water, 1/2 cup vegetable oil and three eggs. Heat oven to 350 degrees, 325 degrees for dark or nonstick pan, grease pan(s), beat mixture low speed for 30 seconds, then medium speed two minutes, pour into pan and bake. Two 8 inch rounds, 29 - 34 minutes; two 9 inch rounds 24 - 29 minutes. Enjoy!

Go to the store and look at the boxes. If the box looks familiar, turn it over and write down what to add. But if the box doesn't look familiar, write down what any box says, they are all pretty similar, you won't go wrong even if the amounts are slightly off.
