Just a warning--this is a few questions combined in one! I saw a couple other questions similar to this but here is MY problem: I am not the best cook ever...so simple recipes with EASY-to-find ingredients are the best :) I want to make a main dish, side dish, and dessert. For the main course I think I want to make this http://www.rachaelrayshow.com/?q=recipes/drunken-pasta-with-beets-and-swiss-chard (if the link doesn't work it's called drunken pasta)-- do you think it looks too complicated? Anyways, I still need a side course (maybe a nice salad or something?) and a dessert. Any suggestions or website links would be helpful. Thanks guys!!

A lot of recipes say Fahrenheit, and I was wondering if there was such thing as a Celsius oven? Probably outside of U.S., if anything.

Tomorrow night is our one year anniversary. Im cooking his favorite- chicken parmesan. The first question is: Will rigatoni pasta be good served under chicken parmesan? The second: Does a salad, chicken parmesan and parmesan covered sliced baked potatoes sound like a good combination? Thanks for the answers

I'm ashamed to admit, I am not certain of how to prepare baked potatoes. My son does not care for them, so I've never made them. Which potatoes are best? Do I simply wash them, wrap them in foil and bake at 350 for an hour? Any ideas on how to spice it up a little?

Thank you!

I am babysitting and I turned off the oven after making macaroni. The oven hadn't cooled down in an unusually long time so we put a wet/cold cloth over it and it made it worse.
How do we cool it off?
and yes it is turned OFF.

what is the real difference between using vegetable oil and something like crisco shortening to "fry" something on the stove? I want to know if I can use crisco in place of vegetable oil to avoid the store. i know that i fry chicken wings in crisco, so why not something like shrimp? thanks.
