I have some great recipes that call for dry white wine.I'm a recovering alchoholic and don't want to take the chance with having alcohol in the house. Please give me some great substitutions that I could use , that would not alter the taste.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I am thinking of buying a bread maker and would like to hear from people that own one themselves.
Do you think they are worth the money or effort? What brand would you reccomend, etc, etc..

I've never made oatmeal raisin cookies before and I am looking for a really good recipe for them. I see some recipes where they turn out chewy & some recipes where they turn out more firm...I'm not sure which is better. I am making them for someone special for their birthday since these are their favorite type of cookie & I want them to be delicious. Thanks for any help you can give.

I was just about to grill these portabellos that I just bought yesterday and just now noticed the sticker on one package says packed on 4-12 and the other packages (of 2) say packed on 4-19. And it's like May 3rd today. I'm not sure about the shelf life of portabello mushrooms. What would you do? Go ahead and make them or return them to the store and get some fresher ones? I just don't want to eat something if it may make me sick.

I marinated them. The are about an inch thick. Will the marinade that's on them get all charred? Why can't I find a single recipe?

ok so I'm trying to make a really good meal but havent figured out the specifics. this is what I have so far...
meatball soup, I know I want it to have cilantro, turkey meatballs, mini-bowtie pasta, & a clear-ish broth...
sun-dried tomato french bread with a little parmesan-mushroom gravy over the top.
a garden salad with romaine lettuce, green onions, mushrooms, olives, radishes, purple cabbage shreds, & some kind of vinagrette or green goddess type dressing.
Dessert is some sort of sour cream cinnamon crumb cake
not sure about the drink...possibly a sparkling oarnge & rosehip tea. Whatever it is cant have alcohol.
What do you think about this? Does it sound good together? Does it sound like it "comes together as a whole"?Any tips, suggestions, opinions, even recipes for any of this stuff if you have it...I'm jus lookin for input here so pretty much anything is welcome
Thanks so much. (=

I was wondering if anyone had a good basic no yeast quick bread recipe, that can be made in to different breads??

I would like to take the same base and add bananas for banana bread, zucchini, cinnamon and cloves for zucchini bread, pumpkin pie filling for pumpkin bread, cranberries for cranberry bread, apples and streusel for apple bread and so on..........So far all the recipes I have found on the net have had so many variation, I would have to make up a new batch for each bread..............Thanks for your answers:)

My boyfriend has the credit card so I cant go to the store and Im trying to make him dinner before he comes home at 5:30. Is there anything else in relish other than pickles? please help ASAP

I never had one before so I am not sure how to use it. Do i use parchment paper on it, if I don't I would think that the stone dust would go on the food. Is cooking times and temperatures the same as aluminum pans. Anybody else have stoneware cookie sheets?

Everyone loves a good omelet, but i've found it's a little tricky to make them at home if you want restaurant style omelets with lots of goodies in em. It'd be kind of a hassle to have to buy all the different ingredients/toppings, cook them, and dice them up just for one breakfast. Does anyone make diced sausage/ham etc. specifically packaged and sold for making omelets? If so, what store could I find them at? Thanks.
