Whole or headless?
There is little or no "meat" in the forward part of a crawdad, just some yummy 'things' that get all spicy...
The tail will yield all of the meat and 1lb. (with heads) will give you 1/4 to 1/3 of a pound of succulent, lobster-like yumminess!
Without heads? Right around 2/3 of a pound.
Best wishes!

Depends on how big the crawdads are. Here in East Texas, they are medium to large (about 3-5 inches from top to tail).
You would get about one ounce of meat from 3-4 crawfish. Depending upon how big that pound of boiled crawdads is, you are looking at maybe 7-8 ounces tops.
But if you are eating them boiled with corn and red potatoes, those will fill you up as well. So depending upon how hungry you are, go with the pound and add a half dozen potatoes and 1 or 2 ears of corn.
Don't forget to pinch the tail and suck the head!

The crawdad is mostly pincher's,so I would say you can get about 6 ozs. of meat when they are shelled. It is all about the crawdad boils..You get full on the sausage, potatoes, corn, and onion from the boil.Wish I could eat some. Why not just buy the frozen, more for your money.....

In New Orleans, the crawfish are about 3" long and the meat is only in the tail. My estimate is that you'll only get about 40% of the weight is edible.
So in 1 lb (16 oz), you'll get about 6 oz of meat.
Crawfish are good, but too dang much work. I'd rather eat boiled shrimp.

Being from New Orleans.... I think i can help. It all depends on how big the CRAW-FISH is ( not craw dad) If they are a good size and you know how to peel them properly you will get about an inch of thick meat, plus you can suck the head for some juice. If there small you wont get alot of meat maybe a half inch.

I love crayfish. But that's what we call them in New England, even though we don't have them up here.
