Everyone loves a good omelet, but i've found it's a little tricky to make them at home if you want restaurant style omelets with lots of goodies in em. It'd be kind of a hassle to have to buy all the different ingredients/toppings, cook them, and dice them up just for one breakfast. Does anyone make diced sausage/ham etc. specifically packaged and sold for making omelets? If so, what store could I find them at? Thanks.

(I finally found the best item for making an omelet. I purchase it at WalMart, but I am sure other stores such as Kroger's etc. also have it. It is made my Jimmy Dean brand. It is called, new by Jimmy Dean, Breakfast Skillets. You may purchase it made with Ham, Bacon or Sausage. All three of the meat varieties have Diced Potatoes, Red and Green Peppers and Onions and of course the meat of your choice. It is in the frozen dept. of your grocery store. If you can't find it in your local store, go to Walmart. It comes in a 20oz, 1.25 lbs. and it serves 4 hungry tummy's. It is ready in 10 minutes. And the only thing you have to add are the eggs. Life cannot be simpler. Go buy a bag and eat up. (and by the way, it comes in a resealable bag, so use only what you need and seal and save the rest for tomorrow morning.)

You could try buying the fresh ingredients and dicing them yourself and then just freezing the ingredients in ziploc bags so there is just enough for each omelette.

Do this once and it should make enough for 4-5 days if you use these ingredients:

1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 spanish onion
1 slice precooked ham or 2-3 precooked sausage links

Should be able to cook from frozen in a skillet with some olive oil or butter. Once ingredients have heated and browned, pour the egg over top, let set, then flip.

I know Hormel makes a package of diced ham. It's about 6 oz., and what you don't use, you can use the next day in another omelet or toss it into pea or bean soup. It also keeps in the freezer well. Cheese keeps in the freezer well too. As far as the veggies, chop each one up one day and keep in separate ziplocks in the crisper until needed for the eggs or soups or dinner or whatever. And onions and peppers can be frozen too.

Try the salad bar at your supermarket. They generally have chopped vegies, ham, bacon, and cheese among other things.
