Easter this year has been one opps after another. The latest - I'm wanting to make White Salad for Easter dinner. The kids are now expecting it and I am CRAVING IT. But - I forgot the heavy whipping cream and have no money to get any. It is marshmellows broken up - heavy whipping cream with (this sound awful but it is needed) a tablespoon of mayonaisse, can of crushed pineapples, halved grapes all mixed together. After refridgerating, the cream becomes thick enough that there is no drips when lifted with a slotted spoon and it has also moistened the marshmellows by soaking into them.
Can I use milk somehow instead without it being soupy and tastless or soggy and gross? Surly milk can be added to butter or sugar to make somewhat of a heavy cream, right???
