I have 8 oranges that I don't want to throw out and I was thinking some sort of cooked dish would be nice, but I really don't have much in the house to cook with, I was thinking maple syrup and oranges in a pot or something. Any suggestions?

I won't eat fruitcake because I hate chunks of fruit in cakes or bread in general, but is fruitcake really that bad? Why does it suffer the brunt of every holiday joke in the book?

I am baking cookies for my neighbors and was wondering if any of you out there in cyberspace had any good recpies for sugar cookies. I know that most cookie recipes require shortening but Mom "doesn't believe in it because it is too fattening" (blah blah balh) so we don't have any of that. So I was thinkin if you have a sugar cookie recipe that doesn't need shortening that would be just fabulous!
Thanks much,
Tina
