yes, it's the "skin"
you can use a cheese grater
be sure not to get any of the white stuff, cause that's bitter and nasty tasting.

yes. its theskin, you can use the small side of yourgrater, or if you have a foodprocessor, carefully slice off just the coloured part of the peel, leaving the white alone, and whurr it in theprocessor for a few seconds, until to looks like course salt.. Yopu could also score it with a sharp fork until you get enough but that takes quite a long time If you don't haveany lemon zest( grated peel) you don't really need it but your baking will taste bland

It means that you need to finely grate the outside peel (yellow) of the lemon.

Actually it is called zest it is the yellow part of the lemon peel. A potato peeler or a very sharp knife with a short blade are used to remove the zest

yes, peel is the skin or zest of the lemon. it contains a whole lot of flavor. Take the skin and either grate it onto a rasp or microplane (avoid getting white stuff; turn often) or just cut off skin (avoid white) and chop finely in a food processor or blender, w/ a bit of sugar.

No, it truly isn't any longer inspired because: a million) no longer the same flavor. The zest is finished of risky oils. 2) One (juice) is a liquid at the same time as the different (zest) is a sturdy. 3) no matter if you've been satisfied with only a "lemony" flavor. the quantity necessary to get a "lemony" flavor is so diverse that it may screw up any recipe. i imagine the significant vast difference is the scent. Lemon juice does no longer scent as strongly because the zest. Scratch a lemon and scent it. perchance it is why they ask you to get the peel, to get a powerful aroma of lemon on your cookies. in spite of the undeniable fact that, from the link that I searched, it stated you may replace it to at least a million/2 teaspoon lemon extract in line with teaspoon lemon zest, skill on your case, you should use a million tbs of lemon extract to get almost the same flavor.

It is literally the skin of the lemon. You can just use a cheese grater to grate it. I've done it before.
