I put mayonaisse, milk, salt, pepper, relish, mustard and grate carrots. I've been making it like this for a long time and I feel like a change. Got any ideas?

I get totally rave reviews with my salad, and it's SO easy!
Use Ranch dressing for the dressing, and then put in chopped-up grilled chicken, cooked, chopped bacon, and any veggies you like. I like tomatoes, peas, and cucumbers in mine. A little extra garlic and pepper, and you're done!

Super Macaroni Salad
1 16 oz box macaroni cooked, drained and cooled
1 1/2 cups good mayonnaise (Hellmans, Kraft's,etc)
1 cup white vinegar more or less
1/4 cup shredded carrots
1/4 large green pepper finely chopped
1/8 cup minced onion
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/ 2 cup sugar

Pour the macaroni in a large bowl, add the veggies including the onions, set aside. In a smaller bowl mix remaining ingredients, taste, it should have a nice sweet and sour flavor, add more sugar or vinegar until you like the taste. Then pour over the macaroni veggie mix, blend well and put in fridge until ready to serve.

For a nice, new flavor, put in some celery seed, a small dose of vinegar (2 to 4T), and a small dose of sugar (2 to 4T). It changes the flavor and makes it nice. You can add any veggies you want. Enjoy! This is how I like to make macaroni salad.

multi- colored pasta is a good start
mayonnaise, salt , pepper, prosciutto, amarosa tomatoes (small tasty ones) roasted peppers (I like green and red) a dash of hot chili flakes (not too much).
Sometimes I swap out the prosciutto with dried cranberries, dried cherries and dried blueberries - usually when it is a side dish for meat.
