Okay, I give up! What's the best way to cook crispy roast potatoes! I have tried having the oven on gas 7 for 10min with oil in a roasting pan in it before putting spuds in the pan. They still came out soft. Any helpful suggestions please? (Left them in the oven for 1hr. Any longer and they would be burnt)

I am looking for a recipe from the 70's that was called something like 'Shrimp 'n' Rice Ortega'. It was made with shrimp, celery, onion, sour cream and some type of red Ortega sauce. It was served over rice. Does anyone have that recipe?

I was planning on cooking some holiday delights and was hoping to avoid using corn syrup as I have been reading that it is not good for you. I thought maybe maple syrup would be a healthier choice, but didn't know if that was true or not; or whether I could even use it as a subsitute. Thanks for your help!

I want to bake a cake, but it seems that almost every cake I make, after a day or two it gets well.. not moist anymore. I keep the cake in a cake box but it still dosen't work. Does anybody know what I can add to my cakes to make them moist? I buy the cake mixes where you add eggs, water and oil. Would I need to add butter to make it moist? HELP!
