What is the order for a seven layer bean dip?

From bottom to top in a cake pan:
1.Taco seasones hamburger
2. Spicy Refried Beans
3. Guacamole
4. Cheese
5. Sour Cream
6. Lettuce
7. Sprinkle diced tomatoes, green onion, etc.
A good garnishment: Cut up tortillas in triangle shapes and deep fry them.

It looks like you can do just whatever it is you want to! Here is how I do mine.
1. refried beans with or without the browned ground beef
2. 2 avocados mashed with a little lemon juice and stirred in with a c sour cream and 1 c mayo. or just add some taco seasonings, if you don't want the avocado.
3.grated cheese
4.chopped tomatoes
5.sliced olives
6. sliced green onions
7. Salsa on the side with tortilla chips. You can also use chopped up lettuce between the beans and the mayos.

1. Ground Beef and/or Beans (for vegetarians) or other meat
2. Cheese
3. Sour Cream
4. Salsa
5. Guacamole
6. Lettuce
7. Tomato

Old El Paso® Favorite Recipe! Dig in to a delicious homemade dip. You make it by layering your favorite Mexican ingredients.

Prep Time:20 min
Start to Finish:20 min
Makes:16 servings (1/2 cup each)

1can (16 oz) Old El Paso® refried beans
1package (1.25 oz) Old El Paso® taco seasoning mix
1package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1can (4.5 oz) Old El Paso® chopped green chiles
1cup Old El Paso® salsa (any variety)
2cups shredded lettuce
2cups shredded Cheddar or Mexican cheese blend (8 oz)
1can (2.25 oz) sliced ripe olives, drained (1/2 cup)
1medium tomato, diced (3/4 cup)
Tortilla chips, if desired

1.In medium bowl, stir together refried beans and taco seasoning mix. Spread mixture on large platter.
2.In another medium bowl, stir together cream cheese and chiles. Carefully spread over bean mixture.
3.Top with salsa, lettuce, cheese, olives and tomato. Refrigerate until serving time. Serve with tortilla chips.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): No change.

Here is mine, starting from the bottom: Beans, green onion chopped, diced tomatoes, sour cream, cheddar cheese, jack cheese, then a bottle of salsa on top.

"7 Layer Sombrero Dip" - 8 to 10 servings

1 (1 oz.) packet Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing Mix
1 cup sour cream
1 (16 oz.) can refried beans
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 (4 oz.) can diced green chiles; drained
1 (2.25 oz.) can sliced black olives; drained
3/4 cup EACH shredded Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese
Chopped avocado (optional)

Spread beans on 10" serving platter. Blend sour cream and dressing mix; spread over beans. Layer remaining ingredients. Serve with tortilla chips.


"Fiesta Appetizer Pie"

3 ripe avocados
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
2 green onions (scallions); finely chopped
1 (8 oz.) jar taco sauce
1 cup finely shredded Monterey Jack cheese (4 oz.)
Tortilla chips

In bowl mash avocados with lemon juice. Spread mixture evenly in bottom of 9" pie plate; spread sour cream atop. Sprinkle with green onions. Spoon taco sauce over sour cream, then sprinkle cheese over all. Cover and refrigerate until serving time. Serve with chips for dipping.


"Everyone's Favorite Layered Tex-Mex Dip" - 16 servings

BEAN LAYER:
2 (16 oz.) cans refried beans
2 tbsp. lime juice
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. EACH minced garlic, ground cumin and hot-pepper sauce
GUACAMOLE LAYER:
2 ripe avocados
1 tbsp. EACH fresh lime juice and chopped cilantro (parsley)
1 tsp. EACH minced garlic and salt
3/4 cup sour cream
2/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
SALSA LAYER:
1 large tomato; seeded and chopped (1 cup)
1/4 cup sliced scallions (green onions)
1/4 cup chopped cilantro (parsley)
1 tbsp. lime juice
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp. salt
Tortilla chips
Lime wedges

1) Bean Layer: Mix ingredients in medium bowl. With rubber spatula, mound in center of a 12" or larger serving plate. Shape into a flat circle about 8" across.
2) Guacamole Layer: Halve avocados; scoop flesh into medium bowl. Mash with lime juice, cilantro, garlic and salt until almost smooth. Spread on top of bean layer.
3) Top with sour cream, then sprinkle with cheese. Cover surface directly with plastic wrap to keep out air; refrigerate.
4) Salsa Layer: Stir ingredients in medium bowl; cover and refrigerate.
5) To serve: Remove plastic wrap. Drain juices from Salsa; spoon over cheese. Surround dip with chips and lime wedges, and serve extra chips in a basket.
