I've put in a call to Giada De Laurentiis's people...so cross your fingers for me.

Hmm...tricky one.
For company and fun, I'd go with Bourdain, but I get the feeling I might end up with French-style roasted seal hearts or something if I let him in the kitchen.

Rachel Ray - not bad, seems to do tasty things, but I don't know - there seems something insubstantial about her approach, somehow.

Alton Brown - I mean, the man's a god, no two ways about that. So a very strong contender there, but as with Heston Blumenthal, I'd be afraid to leave him alone for two long in case he dismantled half the kitchen cos he needed a handy new way to roast the turkey at high pressue.

Gordon Ramsey? Hell no. Same goes for Jamie Oliver - I'm with Bourdain on his description of the Naked Chef: "every time I see him I wanna go back in time and bully him at school."

Nigella Lawson? Distinct possibility - she seems to have the approach of someone who really likes FOOD.

But bottom line, I've got the NEXT great celebrity chef in my kitchen. Donna Drake-Fyler, people - remember the name, people...

Giada De Laurentiis too! Or Mario Batalli. Or Paula Dean, or Ina Garten!

Not Rachel Ray; she talks so much and acts out everything she says; I like her, but she would annoy the crap outta me.

If I was looking to have an elegant dinner- I would say Martha Stewart but this year I would like to have a laid back laugh out loud time so I would choose Mo'Nique.

I think she would be funny (she's a comedian). I think she would cook some good soul food. Skinny cooks can't be trusted is her newest cookbook.
