My big day is in 7 mth. A few mths ago,the planning started (dress shop.,looking at flowers, cakes, favors etc. When sending e-mails to my 3 BMaids and my MOH,my MOH NEVER replied. We chatted wedd stuff a bit in person, nothing big(she only lives 20 min away). When the shopping started, she came once, other than that she was busy so a bridesmaid came with me. About 1mth ago she called me crying, breaking up with her bf, almost 100% sure that she would be moving 2000 miles for a fresh start. I was sad she would miss all my wedding stuff, only showing up days before the big day. Finally she told me it would be best I ask one of the other girls to be MOH, they would be closer and more helpfull. After asking 20 times if she was sure this wouldn't cause problems between anyone (her saying no) I agreed. NOW this week she admitted she is a little pissed I asked a BM to be my MOH. Saying she only said it cause she thought its what I wanted to hear, that I sounded pissed??

I don't want a traditional church ceremony with the bridesmaids, best man, or maid of honor. What should I do and what are the best locations for this type of wedding?

A manager has 12 subordinates and is about to get a wedding party. What is the wedding invitation etiquette ? Does he have to follow "invite them all or none" etiquette ? or Does he have the right to choose which one of those 12 he would like to invite? - which may mean (or can be read as ) favoritism. The ones invited will feel "above" the ones not invited and the ones not invited will feel "rejected", "below", "outcast" etc

I personally think that he must follow invite them all or none. What do you think?

btw, the manager invited ALL the 11 subordinates (1 is a woman and was not invited - which is correct) to his bachelor party.

Is this ok for october? I'm thinking mostly black & white (classy) with a little touch of hot pink here and there to keep it fun (and very "us"). Is this appropriate for October?

My idea is bridesmaid dresses black with white sashes, and the MOH will have a hot pink sash. The groomsmen will be in black tuxes with white shirt, black tie, and BM will have hot pink tie? I want the MOH and BM to stick out from the rest, but not enough to overpower me and my hubby-to-be.

I'm not totally sold on it, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Who is responsible for what and what is a reasonable amount to spend. Money is not abundant but not a major problem either. I make good money and so does her mom. Her dad will help some too Hs dad is a jerk and will not. So that leaves only me on his side. Help

I want to keep the cost very low. My family has a lake-house and that is one of my options. I want the option of doing whatever I want and not having to be completely by schedule. At most venues you have to come decorate at a certain time and leave and have things cleaned up at a certain time. The lake-house isn't some beautiful extravagant place. The house is some what small and only 3 bedrooms 1 bath but I believe it would just be a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. But I also want it to be nice without having to spend too much on decorations. I think with a small tent we could accomodate the party.
Also my mom thinks this is a bad location. Do you think it would just be better to a chapel or church?

It's very important to me that I make the programs myself. I did the programs for my sis's wedding as a rush job because she kept changing everything, hers ended up being 8 1/2 x 11 pink photocopied paper that were folded width- wise and stapled together. While they turned out fine for her, she never planned on programs anyway, I want something more special.

I've printed out the draft version a number of times but still can't get a version that I like. Right now it's 8.5 x 11 paper folded length wise, but might reformat the draft so it could be cut to tea-length, but anytime I try, it still looks like I went the cheap route and printed myself. Does anyone know how or where or paper option that will make programs that I created look classy? Also, what I have now is 3 pieces of paper printed because there is alot I want to say, so the front- inside-back designs sold by wilton at acmoore are not sufficient. Even tried the 3 pages with a vellum cover, but they still look cheap & flimsy.

I am the Bride. Its not very appropriate to wear a getting married in a Church dress is it? It's not a big wedding either (just us and close friends so no major reception either). Anyone done this - any advice would be great.

Also, where were you married, was it nice or did you feel like cattle with hundreds of other people around?

I am going to WA for my brothers wedding in a couple of weeks. I have had no relationship with my dad for 15 years due to choices he made when he met his new wife. They have two children which I have never met (only had a few dealings with them when they were babies) in which one of them is going to the wedding as well (she is now 18). I have four children of my own which my dad has obviously not met and I am not quite sure how to deal with all this. It is only me going over for the wedding and I made the decision to go knowing both my mum and dad will be there. Just interested in peoples views on this and if you think it is wrong if I just treat him more as an aquantence rather then my dad.

One of my brothers is due to get married next July. We have always had a very rocky relationship, but since he met her we've spoken maybe 3-4 times (in about 5-6 years!). I cannot stand her and she physically repulses me. She has created an even deeper split between us. Attending a wedding is supposed to be about supporting the couple and celebrating their love...but I can't and I don't. I'm from a big family and I am expected to go, but I just can't bring myself to even THINK of attending. I need some constructive advice, please!!....

I'm not a big wedding person so I get bored fast, so I don't want to go by just me. Since marriage is a serious commitment and can be pretty costly, I don't want it to just be in an out but I don't want everyone getting bored wondering when its going to end. So as a guest how long would be too long for a wedding ceremony to last?

Does anyone know a designer or other source that does wedding dresses that are decorated with a colored floral pattern, or have color instead of just plain ivory or white? Thanks to all in advance

My sister and my brother in law are the only ones in my family who dont approve of my fiance and I to get married.
When we told them they completly made ME feel like **** and embarressed that crap outta me in front of my fiance. He had my back the hole time. But there wasnt any need for this.
She tries to control everything and manipulates me all the time. It's like once I realize she's doing this I realize I fell into her trap. Now I let things cool off. I make the day for my wedding ceremony and I speak with her today and she jumps down my throat b/c I didnt let her know about the date?!
As far as I was concerned she told me she didnt approve, and I thought she wasnt coming. Now she's trying to get me to have my wedding closer to her so it's convient for her and my family who lives out there. I'm so angry and I had it with her and my family treating me this way. I honestly want to just have me and my fiance. So I wont have to feel all agravated on our day
