My wedding day is a year away. But i am worried that i am going to cry the entire damn day? I am one of those people that cry when there happy, or when they hear a touching song that reminds me of someone.
I think now sometimes of how happy i am going to be, and how excited, and the dancing with my daddy, and just everything, and i get teary... What i am i going to do that day??
I am hoping that i get all the sappy stuff out now and just smile beautifully on my wedding day..

Anyone else worried about this happening?

I ordered a dress online that was pictured with a sash (sold separately). I had assumed that the sash would come with some sort of instructions as to how to tie it, but that did not happen. I'm freaking out now, because I can't seem to get the bow to look halfway decent. Please help!

I am getting married on Saturday. The man I am marring is the love of my life and I can't image my life without him. I don't want to feel sick standing at the alter. What can I do that morning or that day to control my wedding day jitter. Previous brides please help!

We were talking marriage the other night and he mentioned that he does not want a wedding band. He would like one for the symbol of marriage, but nothing expensive and he would not wear it most of the time. I know him all too well and he would lose it or damage it from working.

But is it strange that he wants a tattoo of my name in a band on his finger instead?
I like the idea, but wanted more opinions on this one.

I want a spring wedding set in a formal greenhouse with white linens, wooden tables and chairs, natural grass centerpieces and a string quartet. What else can I add?

changed into 2 different outfits meaning one for the wedding, and then a different one for the reception? If so, what was the reason? What culture was this?

(Not including bridal party or family members in the wedding.)

I'm frazzled. There are lovely dresses out there, but they are all strapless. Between being overweight and having tattoos, I don't want a sleeveless, spaghetti strap or short-sleeved dress.
I don't want to hide a beautiful strapless dress under a jacket/wrap - thats not the point.
The only thing I can find, so far, that offers sleeves are Renaissance dresses, and that isn't exactly what I'm looking for.
SO, are there any dress makers out there who are located within 4hours drive of NYC or who you can order from over the internet?

Our family received an invitation to a friend's wedding. We're accepting with four people.

The invitation looks like this:

.......................................................

Kindly respond by November 1

M ___________

__ Accept with Pleasure
__ Decline with regrets

.....................................................

What do you write after M? Do you add the proper ending, i.e. Mr / Mrs, or do you leave it M Last Name?

Before "Accept," do you mark, or do you write the number attending?

Thanks :)

Why is it stupid people with no life ask why you are not married or when is the big day? My 3 brothers and I in our late 30s to 40s are not married or do not choose to get married. My parents were married 40 years and everyone assumes we will get married as well.
Why don't people mind their own business.

My Comeback is: We are a gay family. Haven't you heard 4 kids are all gay? Then they just leave in shock.

My fiance and I decided to take some dance lessons prior to our wedding so that we could figure out what to do during our first dance. I'm very happy with our decision because it has made him feel much more comfortable with dancing in front of everyone.

However, our instructor recommonded that we cut the song from 4 minutes to just over 2 minutes to make it easier on the both of us. I'm not completely opposed to the idea but wanted to get everyones thoughts as to whether or not that is too short.

I know my fiance will like it as he is very shy about the whole first dance thing but I don't want to look back and think "it went so quick!" Any suggestions?

at a wedding? I am going to a wedding this weekend with my mom. I am hoping to meet some single men there. Is that common? What is the best way to approach someone at a wedding?

Such as your wedding colors are black and red and your getting married in April, or making carmel apples as favors (take home) and your wedding isn't in the fall? I'm so sick of people telling me "thats not the thing to do/colors to choose in the spring"
you know what
It's my wedding, I don't give a crap, i'll do what I WANT DONE!

So tell me (i know some of you are out there) What are you doing out of season that people think isn't 'right'?
:)

We go to his "bar" about once a week to watch football, and that's usually the only time I drink. I had 2 pitchers of beer, and I also bought a mixed drink for me and his 2 friends (they buy me stuff all the time). As soon as I did he went off on me. At this time MY friend had just showed up. So he kept saying "you're not drinking anymore" etc, and making a scene in front of 3-4 people.

He said I was "drunk" because I thought the song "waterfalls" by TLC was either about AIDS or sickle cell anemia.. but I couldn't recall which one.

Why does he make a scene and what should I do to avoid it from now on? Should I quit going to his bar all together, in turn not allowing him to go either?

Hi,

Any sugestions on how to politely and tactfully approach the the subject of paying for your own dresses & shoes with my bridesmaids? I know that this is basically the done thing, and although I am getting them made as inexpensively as possible I feel kinda stingy!!

If money wasn't an issue i'd buy them myself, but you know how it is.. :os

I feel awful asking them since they are doing ME the honer of being my 'attendants'!

(and PS Is it customary for the groomsmen to pay for their own suit hire?)

What if you found out you were pregnant, in the middle of planning a formal renewal of vows? And your husband tells you he would now like to wait until you've had your 10th anniversary? Would you put a stop to the plans until the baby or babies were closer to two years old? Would you change your venue from formal to casual to accomodate toddler/toddlers? Opinions please.
