Do you need to take tons of money to possible book all your vendors there, or do you just hook up and interview a bunch of them at one time? or something else?

You just get cards from vendors, get the free-bees, and see if they have special deals for going to the event that day. They can lower their prices anytime, not just then because they know that there will be tons of people and paperwork that you can't do in just the 5 minutes you spend per booth.

Basically get overwhelmed!

There are so many vendors at expos that it's almost impossible to make any sort of decisons while you're there. If you have an idea of what kind of wedding you want, it does make it a little easier to narrow down the type of vendors you need to look for. You can also get some really good deals on accesorries there but some of them are difficulty to make returns or exchanges if you're not careful. If you don't have a clue what you want, it's a good place to get ideas or wonder if eloping isn't a better alternative!

I would also recommend that you do not book anyone immediately at the expo. Take time to research the vendor. Remember that they're going to be putting their best foot forward for the expo but that may not be what you get at your wedding. Also, many of the vendor I ran across at the expos I've been to are way over priced and really aren't into personal services. Many of them will tell you, "This is what you need for a perfect wedding!" when it's really just an extra expense.

Best advice I can give you is to be careful what you sign up for as you will recieve a ton of junk mail after attending an expo, gather as much information as you can from the vendors that seem to offer the products/services you're interested in and don't give in to impulse!

Well, I personally would NOT reserve or do anything AT the show. Take ALL pamphlets and business cards to look at later, after the rush has died down. Don't make yourself forced into a contract that you might regret later.

My first expo I was overwhelmed, and looked at their exhibits and took their business cards and signed up for their drawings. I didn't sign any contract or pay any fees (except the expo entry fee).

Take a backpack for the crap you'll get. The "bags" they give you end up having the handles or the bag itself break.

Print out labels that have the B&G's name, address, email address, wedding date, location, (it can all fit, I tried it with an expo a few months ago). ONLY put your phone number if you are interested in hearing from them over the phone. You'll get a LOT of emails from people, so perhaps make a "wedding email" address for any expos or sites/etc that you visit.

You just walk around and look at samples of their work and get info on the company. You can get price lists and compare them to your budget. You do not have to book the vendor then. In my opinion even if you want to I would say not to! You will be all excited and over whelmed by all of the stuff. In other words caught up in the moment. You need to sleep on it. Yeah what they said.... but i heard a tip on a wedding show a few days ago. When going to an expo, they ask you a LOT to fill out little flyers.

The show suggested making premade stickey labels with the Brides name,Grooms name, phone number, email, and your wedding date on them. Save you from writing it over and over and OVER again.

Wish i knew that one before i went to the expo a few months ago.

These shows are for the different companies to show off what they've got. You don't need to take any money, its sort of a one shop stop. you can see what they have to offer and compare. Most will have brochures to give out. Beware that putting your name into the draws and contests at such shows usually puts you on their mailing/phone list so expect annoying sales calls. Of course if you win anything that's great! Most of these shows have samples and freebies which is always fun, but don't yield to high pressure sales pitches, take your stuff home and read it thoroughly before making any major decisions

I would honestly recommend not going. I went to one expo and was just overwhelmed by the commercialization of the wedding industry. They are like vultures while you, the bride, are their prey. I ate my free cake and left.
