How did you know that the one you chose was "the" dress?

Has anyone NOT had any "omg this is THE dress I'm going to be married in" feelings?

I've tried on dresses, and have really liked them, but none scream "MINE". Does it mean that it is not THE dress for me?

My wedding day is in June 2008, and I'm feeling rushed to find a dress. Everywhere I've read, you need to get it more than six months out, and I've got less than 8 months!!!

What if I can't find a dress that screams "MINE"? Did your dress scream "MINE"?

**deep breath** I'm fine, really.

**twitch**

I'm looking for answers only from women who have had their "to be" go with them to pick out their wedding dress, or at least let them see pictures of you in a wedding dress.

I'm just curious. I showed my fiance several dresses I really liked, I didn't try them on, I just let him look at them on the hanger. How many women have done this?

I'm also thinking of trying on dresses and getting a picture of them on me. Then showing my fiance the pictures and seeing which style/length/etc he likes, then picking one out (not telling him which one) so it'll be a little bit of a surprise.

I'm not sure if its just the local Kay Jewelers store or if its nationwide, but I was just wondering if your Kays is having a sale on November 1st. If so, how long is the sale lasting?

FYI the Kays that I'm talking about that is having a sale locally is one in Dulles, VA. They have a sale November 1st and I'm just curious if its ONLY November 1st or if its a few days long.

I am having a $100 dinner per person along with drinks, appetizers, and so forth. I have a huge family and so does my fiancee--totalling about 200 persons on both sides. The total guests are 300. How can I get relatives to help fund my wedding because they are all affluent, but I am not working and fiancee just landed a job, so $$ is questionable right now, but we want to keep up with Jones's as all my relative's weddings were lavish.

My friend may be getting married soon. After two years of dating this girl, I've still never met her, or any of her friends. Not even once. And they both live like, only half an hour away.

But if they do get married, I probably WILL be a groomsman, since I've known him for near a decade. But really, I'm not looking forward to it. I don't want the pressure of having to bring date. I also really have no interest in socializing with any of the bridesmaids (who will be total strangers to me, and probably married or dating, like most normal people my age.) To me, it would be nothing but forced conversation with a bunch of strangers.

And people say you are supposed to meet people at a wedding. How is this possible? What can you possibly talk about to start conversation with people you know absolutely nothing about? And why would you?

Do you keep it to yourself or tell your friend and break her heart?

My boyfriend proposed three weeks ago. Before we were engaged, we were talking about getting married in summer 2008 and all the sweet ideas towards marriage.

However, after the engagement, when our discussion topic relates to getting married, he totally panicked. And he told me that he's scared to get married and does not want to get married soon. He also hesitates to tell his parents/friends that he proposed. He said he's shy.

His reluctance of marrying me soon and not telling his friends/family that we are engaged made me questioning myself that whether he really loves me and wants to marry me.

Now, both of us are afraid to touch the "getting married" topic. It creates so much stress between us when we talk about it. And whenever we talk about it, we have no conclusion whatsoever.

Is it wise to ask him to propose when he's ready to get married? Should I cancel my engagement or should I wait?

My fiance and I are getting married in about a year. We won't have bridemaids or groomsmen or best men or maid of honor. We have two dogs who will be ring bearer and flower girl and a good mutual friend to walk them.

My fiance and I will both walk down the aisle.

We would like to include his parents in the wedding. My parents will probably not be participating (they're pretty racially intolerant, and not happy for me at all) if they decide to come.
(please no comments about this)

So how should I have it conducted? I figure the dogs will come out first, but what then after that?

We really want this to be a unique and special intimate wedding :)

In a Mexican culture it is traditional that the couple has one or several "sponsors" for the wedding. Some will pay for the liquor, food, entertainment etc. They are mostly relatives or close friends. These people are called padrinos. The padrinos are presented at the wedding and in many cases are giving a present for there help! In some cases we write a letter to ask for sponsors in advance so they can get everything together before the wedding!! Sorry if this something funny are you think is not right but that is just are culture! My best friend is getting married in July and I am in charge of writing a sponsor letter! I need help.I have no idea how to even start it. I could use any help or advice!!!!

Anyone know how to use it? How do i hide all of the plastic cone looking part that will show? If i dont come up with something i will just hand-tie it and wrap the stems with ribbon. I am using 5 stems of red hydrangeas so the bouquet will be a nice size but with less stems.

I want to get them all the same thing for sure. They are all around the same age--20-22. I can't get my fiance to pick anything out, so I'm open to suggestions. I'd like to spend about the same as I spent on the bridesmaids' gifts, so I'm looking at a price range of about $25-30, give or take a little. Thanks for your help!

So for our wedding my fiance and I are thinking of incorporating one of his GREAT loves which is movies.

Since it's a wedding I suggested romantic movies...like Casablanca, Titanic, The Notebook etc...

We were thinking of naming every table the name of a movie (instead of having plain old TABLE 8) and then doing a few more movie things....maybe something related to when the guests make the couple kiss (as opposed to clanking on glasses).

I want it to be romantic and not tacky in any way....Please...I need suggestions. Let me know if you think this is a dumb idea period...and any ideas you may have relating to this theme!

Thank you!!

My boyfriend says it is. He says that if I don't trust him then I don't love him. I disagree. I think you can love someone and not trust them.

- example: remove label from tin box and every one offers it to the couple (beans, fruits in syrup etc...): surprise surprise
- example: do you really know him/her
- example: prize draw
- example: printed widgets
etc...
Any creative idea would be immensely helpful!

Yesterday I asked if it was wrong of me to request my money back after being kicked out of a wedding party. (BTW, thanks for all the answers) Is it okay for me to refuse to hand over all the centerpieces and bouquets that were made...(they are still at my house becuase thats where we made them) Well the bride called me today to ask if she could come get the centerpieces & whatnot. I told her I was out of town until Fri. afternoon, but I would bring them first thing Sat. morning.(thats when they will be decorating the reception hall) Well Im not out of town I just don't want to give this stuff to her because of what she did. (she kicked me out of the wedding 2 days after the shower, & told me I was uninvited. Lame exuse about a groomsman dropping out. I asked her if she was going to reimberse me for my expenses (around $1100) & she laughed & said "NO" Well I know that no else did the decorations so it will look pretty blah, without all the stuff. Is it rude of me to keep the stuff?

She is marrying a man in the Air Force (him being in Air Force doesnt neccesarily have to be in invitation), He has a daughter from another woman, but they also have a son together.
They wanted to include childrens names, and their parents names in the invitation. His parents are married, and her parents are divorced.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!
