... want to cut a "scrap" from the dress and sew it into yours somewhere so that you had a piece of her dress?

This is what I am considering for my dress. I don't think I want to sell it. And I definitely don't want to do one of those destroy your dress photo shoots.

I have decided that I want to keep it, but I know I will never use it. And if I ever have a daughter, I am sure she'd be likely to pick her own style. But I do think it would be neat if she had a scrap of it and maybe start some sort of tradition like that.

Of course, I'd have to have a duaghter first! LOL. I only have one son so far.

me and my fiance would rather have the cash in order to get our house together.we already have all the material items that you ask for in a wedding registry.

I have a friend who is getting married and I think the person is being somewhat inconsiderate of their guests because they are registering for the most expensive things in 2 expensive stores for example $100 just for a flat bed sheet, not even a set, $50 for 1 wine glass and $300 for a blanket. Literally every item had to be the most expensive for them to put it on the registry. Is this something I should address my friend, I would hate others to think my friend was being greedy and only wanted the best.

I wondered how many others had their weddings(or other big event) video taped by someone incompetant. Our wedding video, taken by a relative, was actually EDITED and MISSING parts of the actual ceremony! Other problems too numerous to name. He volunteered, so we said okay. We won't do that again. So, anyone else have trouble with big event videos?

My husband and I just got married (a lil court wedding) not too long ago, but wanted to have a bigger wedding when both of our dads get back from Iraq. I was just wondering if we had to get a new marriage license.. or basically is there anything extra or less that I have to do because we're already married?

We are Jewish but don't necessarily need anything all that religious. We are a quirky couple and would like to have some readings that are funny or unique and fun. Thanks!

I gave her the stupid dress i paid half for and she wants me to pay for the other half and her keep the dress. i was gonna do it just to get her to leave me alone. now she wants me to pay for an entire dress for her new bridesmaid. $200! she is nuts. she is accusing me of sabotaging her wedding. she was just getting too demanding so i wanted out.
can she really win on something like this? oh i have to take a vacation day to go to court so this just seems like a whole waste of time.
small claims have fees she would have to pay but i dont think she cares, she just wants revenge.
poor me.

My Father is going to pay for our wedding but its a mexican tradition to include grooms parents, since they are not longer here how can I name them?
In Mexico we just put a + to let people know they passed away. e.g. Mr & Mrs. John Smith +

I can't find a place that's reasonably priced. I am thinking about $8K (wedding and recption only) for something special. Is that reasonable? My family is really casual, as am I. I don't even want to carry flowers, I just want to hold my dad's hand. I want homestyle food, possibly even served family style, but I can't figure out how to do that with 50 people. A buffet is not something that I want. I want the whole event to be interactive. I want there to be a lot of outside activities for the rest of the weekend. We have a child, as do all of my future in laws, so I want it to be child friendly. I really don't want to spend $30 a plate for food the kids aren't going to eat. I am at a loss.

Hi just wanted opinions on this. My son is unemployed - has been for years. he is looking for a job but no luck so far. he has set date for wedding (soon)! but the company that they want to go with is costing about 3k. he wants me to pay deposit which is 1k but i have doubts as worry there is no way he will be able to afford to pay balance. his fiancee works part time. i dont want to appear mean but worry that i will end up having to pay for it all. also feel you should live by your mean s etc . I know it can be done cheaply as my friend got married recently and only spent £500. but then again that was her second wedding. What do you think? what should i do? i dont want to cause problems with my future daughter in law either - her parents are unable to contribute as they dont work.

Hi, I'm in my mid 20s and getting married in a year or so. The 'problem' is that I have an empty guest list aside from family members which makes up about 5 as I don't intend on inviting my extended family members.
The thing is ever since leaving high school, I have lost contact with all my friends and have not managed to make new friends whom I consider 'close' or even friends at all. I have dealt with 'self esteem' issues (and still kinda do) and have isolated myself and haven't attempted to make friends since high school. The past 6 years have been spent mostly with my soon-to-be-husband. And tryin' to get in contact with ex-highschool friends will be way too awkward and I think everyone's all moved on.

What are your thoughts/advice?

I'm not overly shy or overly outgoing. Sometimes I just wish I could 'rent' some 'friends' just for the wedding event (as pathetic and sad as that sounds LOL). I mean not just the wedding, how about the engagement party, hen's night, bridesmaids
