I am currently engaged to a wonderful guy. However, my mother is intent on ruining my wedding. In the past she has ruined my birthday and even my baby shower by trying to pick fights with me as well as other people. She has already informed me that she is going to do something at my wedding. I love her but I'm not sure that I want her at my wedding. I want the day to go as smoothly as possible but how can it? I've been told that I should just get married at the courthouse but that's not the wedding that I want. What should I do?

My best friend is getting married in two months. She got engaged last week. She doesn't want the big expensive thing, because she thinks our whole idea of what a wedding should be is more about what advertisers tell us than about two people committing to one another. So she doesn't want just bargain version of a "traditional" wedding. But she does want my help.

I don't know where to start. We're thinking around fifty guests. There's one matron of honor (me) and a best man. She wants both of their families involved. Somehow.

Anyone have any good ideas?

I lived with this girl for 2 years we actually moved to Boston together so I thought so was a good friend, nope. I got engaged Sat and was texting everyone. Everyone I called me back but her to ask how did it happen? I talked to her earlier in the day before it happened and she sounded depressed so did not want to make her worse and brag, plus she told me she was true drunk to call anyways and was having a rough time with the news. She said she didn't think she was suppose to call. Why can't she be happy for her friend? I was even going to have her as a bridemaid but not anymore, not a good friend.

We are thinking of bringing the wedding forward to Friday 15th August 2008.
Just wondering what day you married on and if it worked for you?

Is it worth hiring a videographer? We were debating putting more money into the photography that we would have used towards the videography.

I am having a destination wedding. My parents are throwing a huge reception at home (500+ people). Can I wear my wedding dress again? My mom thinks I shouldn't. My friends who are married said they wished they could have worn the dress again and to go for it. Others said that they've seen other women wear their dresses at this kind of reception. Thoughts?

I belong to a church my fiance does not like. It's not b/c of the word the church offers, but it's...basically, it's a megachurch and it's not her church which is 200 miles away (she moved to take care of her mother). When we were looking for a place to marry she wanted us to rent a bus or two and have our family travel to her church so she could get married at her church and by her pastor. I suggested was we get married at my church where 95% of the people invited live. We started by researching my church and although she was not a member, everything was a go. She asked me what I wanted to do and I made the decision that we get married in my city at that church since everything was a go.

Then when ran into problems scheduling appts. The counselor cancelled on us twice due to being sick and b/c my fiance was working 2 jobs and going to school (and I work fulltime 8-5) scheduling was a headache, but it got done. Then we went through the marriage classes and although she did not...

wedding photographers are soooo expensive!!!! At my sisters wedding she had one and my aunt was also taking pictures just to take them, and my aunts were better than the professionals! Would it be wrong to ask her to take pictures at my wedding instead of just coming to enjoy herself?

My fiance's ex asked him how much he paid for my ring. I think she should mind her own business, but he thinks it's a valid question from someone he's known for a long time.

OK I am going to a wedding in El Paso TX, We are Bahai and we do things in the Non traditional way, but I am bringing 2 of my Kids ages 1 year and nearly 3year old, My kids are usually well behaved and My 3 year old is much better than most.
My 1 year old is , typical 1 year old but will eat himself into oblivion .

So what do you think , Ask them to help us get a babysitter or bring them to the party, Get a hotel or stay with the family, and what do i get them for a gift or give money and how much,( they are my husbands friends I have met them 2 or 3 times) they are having the reception at The El Paso Club there is one review online but it is very non desciptive as to dress, and atmosphere. I am from NY originally and now CT Travel is going to be about 800 dollars.

Any help, and any opinions will be helpful.

Thanks

Meg

a woman can be so exicted about thier wedding day, they go out and celebrate, their mom's tell stories to their daughters, they have fun picking out all the stuff. but as for guys they act like its the most miserable thing they can do through, their not as happy.

guys is it becuase you finally realize that youre going to be waking up with the SAME woman in bed for 50 years? is it becuase you can't stand the thought of NOT being able to party and lick women's legs and grab their chests anymore? is it becuase the word Commitment frightens you?

and why is it that the guys always have to have a bachelor party, they have to get laid as much as possible before getting married? thats not nice? i dont hear many women doing that

My husband and I got married very young. It wasn't exactly the dream wedding....more like a few family members in the town hall. So, I have really been looking forward to renewing our vows on our 10 year anniversary (in about a year and a half). I was going to do it in Florida, on the beach but I decided to do it in New Jersey so that all of my family and friends can attend. We are in the Newark/Jersey City area. I would really appreciate any suggestions!! Thanks a lot!!
