Okay....it's a small Sunday AM backyard ceremony. Pre-ceremony music is playing when guests arrive, and they will have a juice and coffee, and danish pastery type little buffet area on deck.

So according to plan, when it's time for the ceremony to begin, my brother will play Chances Are and ask everybody to sit down. (Then another song for mothers entrance, and another song for bridal party etc)

Now I'm trying to write the ceremony program and listing the songs played. I have processional and recessional, but

what do you call it when the guests are asked to sit?

and what is it called when the mothers are escorted to seats?

I really need ideas for words to use.
Thanks

I have a friend who is going to pop the question. He wants to do a rooftop picnic...just like their first date. What are some special touches (other than candles and music) to really set things apart? We're looking for menu ideas, ways to present the ring, and anything else you are willing to throw out.

Thanks!

I got married on August 11th...went on my honeymoon shortly afterwards and have been back for about a week. I've been crazy busy because I'm starting my first year of teaching high school next week. I want to get my Thank-you's out quickly, but still need to get them made up, (let alone write on all of them!). How long do I have before people start getting upset? Also, how much should I write on each one? Thanks!

I've always dreamed of having a medieval wedding. Well, upon planning and looking at the cost, my wedding has become more and more traditional, so now I'm looking to at least add a little medieval flair! Does anyone know of any websites with ideas or pictures? (I don't want it to be completely historically accurate....I love the things out of movies like Tristan and Isolde or Braveheart.) Thanks guys!

Because technically the wedding band goes behind the engagement ring, right? So should I not wear it during the ceremony, or wear it and just flip the rings around before the reception?

What is the proper time between engagements for two sisters so they both have their fair share of the lime light. Both sisters have been dating their boyfriends for about two years. Both boyfriends are ready to propose before the year is up. Please help.

This is my first wedding and I am my moms onlky daughter. So you would think she would be happy right? First of all she's mad because we have been engaged 3 years and we are just getting married now. Has been making comments about selling dress we bought and selling all the stuff we got so far. Well now we have set a date. It's in a beautiful rose garden in a gazebo which happens to be built above a freeway so she makes comments about that. Then there's the comments that its 1.5 hours away from where we live.NOW...I have asked a friend who Ive known 6 years to be in my weding and because my mom "has a bad feelng" about her she said if she's in the wedding she's not coming. I told her I didn't know I needed her permission on who, what and where and when to have my wedding. My moms sick and I swore if I didn't get married before she died i'd never get married. I am 36 years old. Ive tried to tell her how I feel and she just don't listen. I don't want it to be like this. Help.

So it really bothered me because she was suppose to be in the wedding. She is not happy at all instead she went into a drinking depression. I feel bad for here. I don't know what to do? Can you give me some advice. Now she says she didn't call because she was drunk and didn't want to bother me on the day, but everyone else called asked how it happened and what does the ring look like?

I am the bride. My parents haven't offered any financial help. I guess I will have to ask them if they are planning to help? Any ideas of how to do this? I am prepared for either answer from them. It is hard to plan without knowing if they will be helping.

I am stuck! We are trying to plan our wedding location but I can't figure out where and how many people to invite. We have a very small budget and we live in Southern California. All of my family except my dad live in Northern California. I really want to just go to Vegas and have something small, fun and affordable. I figure since my close family has to fly here why not Vegas. But I know his parents want to invite certain friends and family. This will cost more for the reception, etc. I guess my question is, how much should you accomodate who parents want to invite? I really don't mind all those people, but I am thinking about money and what I really, really want. I know my fiancee wants to accomodate his parents for respect to them. But I also know he wants something small to. My 2nd choice for a wedding is on the beach, which is very affordable and maybe just a dinner afterwards with a small crowd.

Me and my financé are having a summer , so were thinking of having a BBQ/ cook out instead of a normal reception, because we are very close to our families and we want them to talk and eat and not feel rushed to move on to the next thing .

My Maid of Honor has made it perfectly clear that there WILL be a stripper at my party because she has never seen a stripper before. I have told her that I would rather have a nice dinner and some bar hopping in Seattle but I have a feeling the stripper is going to happen. If she is paying for this fiasco, then whatever she wants I guess. I feel that the human body is beautiful and trying to make it a "dirty" thing is a total turn off. I have nothing against strippers, and I love nudity and I will often take nude shots of my models (I am a photographer). But to have some strange dude's junk flopping around my face just isn't going to do it for me. Any suggestions? Should I talk to the stripper and just have him put his focus on her? I think she would be the only one to enjoy this.

I'm getting married in June and most of the weddings I've been to have done the dollar dance. My future sister in law said that she wishes she did it at their wedding for honeymoon spending money, but my future mother in law thinks its trashy. I just want to know what the general public thought!

Ok, so I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I still have my dad and of course I'm going to dance with him at my wedding. But my godfather is a very big part of my life and I want to dance with at my wedding also. We want to even it out anyway because I'll dance with my dad, he'll dance with his mom and then his step mom so since I dont have a stepdad, I want to dance with my uncle. I'm not sure of what song to dance to though. I've always thought of Hero by Bette Midler. Does anyone else have any suggestions??? Thanks
