You could do the whole snowflake and icicle theme. I so wanted to do this and my husband (now) didn't like the whole winter idea. Anyway. You can easily cut out and make little snowflakes that you can lay all over the table. I mean you can easily decorate just because of the season such as
White or colored miniature Christmas light strands.
Etched snowflake votive holders.
Snowflake embellishments for your wedding invitations.
Angel hair, spun glass, works well as a centerpiece addition.
Iridescent snowflake shaped confetti.
Crystal snowflake ornaments.
Snowflake shaped lights.
Paper products that can be used with your snowflake clipart.
Snowflake shaped floating candles.
Snowflake dinnerware, glassware, placemats and place settings.
Snowflake themed centerpieces.
Containers of any kind with snowflakes on them for favors or centerpieces.
Balloons with Snowflake patterns.
White ribbons of all patterns and sizes.
Please e-mail me if you need any other ideas. I mean I have tons, but it would take you all day to write it all out.

It depends on where you live and the climate. If you ar living near New York City, have your reception somewhere near the big Christmas tree. ( What a view!! That will be a wedding nobody will forget!! ) But, if you're living someplace that has a warm climate, have your reception on a boat. That is what I did and it was the best. I will never forget it. If you're looking for something on the cheaper side, you aren't going to find anything that's nice and cozy. Nothing is really on the cheaper side these days. A wedding reception is always alot of money and hard work. Good Luck to you and below are a list of good ideas that are cheap for your reception.
I know this sounds rude, but most places don't provide you with crap. YOU have to find a band. YOU have to get the flowers for every table. All of this stuff adds up and after awhile. Here is what you could do to lower the amount of money you have to give.
1. Make paper flowers. They are so cheaper than regular ones AND you have the right to brag that you made them!! go to http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.3a0656639de62ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=71fb87c7cfb82110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&autonomy_kw=paper%20flowers&rsc=ns2006_m4
There is also all kinds of stuff on that website that will provide you the cheaper choice. Alwas remember that however moneyyou spend on the wedding, you will egt back to spend on your new life. I always thought of it like that. Anyways, have the time of your life and enjoy!!!!

I would suggest re-thinking the idea during the month of December because there will be too many other well-established institutions vying for attention: Christmas, Hanukkah Kwanzaa, and New Years Eve....Most families travel for their winter vacations during these times, and few folks will rearrange their plans to celebrate your nuptials with you; they'll already be preoccupied (which translates into fewer gifts)! Looking ahead to the future, if children are in your plans December will be an expensive month, and celebrating your anniversary will be superceded by hustling to make Christmas a happy one for the kids. There will be plenty of things that crop up in the life of a marriage that threaten to push couples' observances into the background without your factoring them into the equation from the outset. I know this wasn't the type of suggestion you were looking for (and if you choose to ignore this advice I still wish you every happiness no matter when you marry) but I was merely curious if you had considered any of these things. Good luck to you.

you can get those shallow bowls and fill with a handfull of blue flat glass marbles. purcase silver floating candles and light them at the start of the reception. get some angel hair that they sell for xmas trees and swirl some around the bowl.
maybe put some pine branches around the bowl then lay the hair on it.... or sprinkle with fake snow to give a nice appearance.
maybe get some confetti glitter in your colors to sprinkle on the table to bring some more color.
oh check on ebay for floating candles. there are several sellers that make the floating style and can make them in any color. and they can scent the wax so you can have the whole place smelling like almost anything you can think of

December weddings are the most beautiful I've ever been to because most places are decorated for Christmas, also cuts down on you expensive for decorating. If you are on a limited budget and decide to use a restaurant for your reception it will already be decorated as will many other public places.

Hi. Those are my favorite colors for a December wedding!
Cheap ideas are:
~ Get glass bowls (dollar store or Walmart) and fill them with blue and silver (ball) ornaments. Put a few votives next to them.
~ Make "iced branches" and put them in blue vases:

~ Get plain glass votive holders (Walmart or dollar store). Coat them with glue (made for glass) and then roll them in some silver glitter! Place them on a mirror for added glow!

I suppose that we would need a little more information to help you out.
A) Where's about do you live? Be general. There's a HUGE difference between trying to give you help for a wedding in Aspen vs. a wedding in NYC.
B) Are you religious? Christian? Would your wedding be sharing a special time of year with a big holiday?

Buy artificial snow flakes and do like a winter a winter wonderland theme. That would be so pretty. you can incorporate it in on your invitations, cake, and other decorations. you can buy that white spray snow to give things a frosted look.(like your flowers) And decocorate a white xmas tree with wedding ornaments, you could even let your guest know your doing this kind of tree and they could all bring you a beautiful ornament for you and your fiance to keep for years to come. Congrats!!

Blue pillar candles wrapped in white and silver ribbons.
You can also buy crystals on a wire at places like AC Moore or Michael's and incorporate them somehow.
Actually, looking in craft stores can inspire you, and it's a lot cheaper if you're creative and don't might DYI.
