Ha! Yeah my fiancee put a PS3 and a Dyson on ours.. not that that's really stupid but, umm.. Our folks aren't rich! On the other registry he put this HUGE universal remote. It's as big as those huge Hershey bars they sell at Valentines Day... He put it on there for our 15 month old son, because he loves playing with remotes! lol

We did actually just add stuff to our registry for fun. We registered at Sears and Crate and Barrel. They gave us a price gun and we just went around scanning everything we remotely liked. We didn't expect to get all the stuff, it was just so much fun registering.

I did register for a wicker hamper, and I was very surprised that my grandmother got it for us, so that was pretty weird. We did get a lot of use out of it though.

My cousin (coz I know it wasn't his wife) registered for a 52 inch LDC TV which at the time cost $10,000. I think he knew there was no chance in hell he was going to get it, but why not put it on for fun! It was the last thing on the registry and made all us guests laugh.

Well, I didn't register at all for my wedding, because it was really small, but my college roommate and her fiance did a big registry for their wedding, and one thing he put on it was a rice maker. Neither one of them really liked rice, so she didn't want it, but he insisted that they might need it someday. She would get online after classes and check her registry, and guess what the first thing bought was?

Yup, the rice maker. She was so mad that she deleted the other item he insisted they needed, a great big expensive chefs knife.

I had a friend who registered for a nose-hair trimmer. YUCK!

My fiance and I havent gotten around to registering yet, but when we do, I really only want the traditional stuff. I'll be so glad to finally have matching dishes, silverware and towels. And a mixer. Not exactly anything ground-breaking there.

I knew a couple who registered at Target. They included stuff like Ding Dongs and Twinkies on their registry!

Didn't have a registry, we were just totally grateful for any gifts we received, and accepted them gratefully.
However, I think anything over a few hundred dollars is plain greedy - if people go together to buy a bigger gift, it's not going to be a 600 dollar one.
I've heard of couples putting stuff on their registry for their children - that's way out of line.

my dad HATES registries so when he married my stepmother he used to get really pissed when she would ask his input (she typed her own with stores and prices next to each item and it was given out to guests by my grandmother..grandmas idea not hers!!) so my dad decided to be funny and stuck things like "inflatable doll", "tighty whiteys", "mail order bride", "a divorce" in the list when she wasnt paying attention...all the guests had a good laugh at it..well my stepmom and grandmother werent amused but everyone else thought it was hilarious

and no he didnt get anything from his list ;)

I put a garbage can on ours. It's a very nice stainless steel one (getting sick of the stinking plastic one), but some people probably think it is wacky. I actually hope someone gets it because I am sick of getting unsolicited white towels with everything.

We out down a couple PS2 games, since that is one of our favorite "together' things, and some board games. We just really like doing those things together, so thought we would register for them.
