I have a friend who is going to pop the question. He wants to do a rooftop picnic...just like their first date. What are some special touches (other than candles and music) to really set things apart? We're looking for menu ideas, ways to present the ring, and anything else you are willing to throw out.

Thanks!

I'd like the little twinkling lights (like Christmas, but not), favorite candy, favorite flowers, picture album to "remember the courtship"

I'll keep thinking............:)

If it is a rooftop picnic and the future groom has some money, maybe see how much it costs to have someone fly over with a banner or if it is a high roof maybe make a banner and place it on the ground and have him bring her over to look at it. Or maybe bring out a cake that says "will you marry me" and their names or a picture.

Or maybe pass out favors that have candy inside and when she opens hers , the ring is inside...
Just some ideas, good luck!

I think a roof top picnic is a GREAT idea and it is romantic in itself. Anything you do will be great. With that setting it is bound to be romantic...the two of them together...a light breeze....(candles you say) music....you are set!

I still like the idea of putting the ring in the glass of champagne (or wine).
