I was just wondering anywhere near Chicago, IL, if there is somewhere you can have a handfasting ceremony. I don't want it to be modern, cold/unfeeling or in the city. I would like to surrounded by a warm environment. I would like it more traditional but is there a place near Chicago. I want it to have a rennaisance feel to it. I'm willing to go to southern wisconsin as well. Any response is welcomed. Thank you.

We've been together itimately and its been great we've shared a lot of things, her kids love me and i love them. I'm there for her whenever she needs me and we are like best friends. So on my part i am certain of that. i just suddently realized that i want to be withher all the time, am i doing this to suddenly where it would shock her, or being sporactic like this ok, besides when do you ever really know when is a good time, i've known people theyve known each other 2 months and are engage, but i'm not sure about this any ideas?

Does anyone know of any other online paper companies besides Paper Source and Kate's Paperie? I am trying to find 8 1/2 x 11 heavy card stock that is scored longways for a menu card and am not having much luck. Any ideas for another paper company?

Also, has anyone ever printed on black paper with white ink with a home printer? Did it work and how well?

We are wanting to do pictures after the wedding but do not want to keep guests waiting. The wedding and reception will be at the same place and food will be served along with a dance. But I need a time filler to keep guests entertained during pictures until our presence will be made at the reception.... Any unique fun ideas?

In my world, you get married once. If your marriage ends through death, divorce or annulment, you get a do-over. Ceremonial services are a crock.

If you eloped, a subsequent church "wedding" is not a wedding. It's a party in a church. If you're churchgoin' folk, you should believe God was watching the courthouse when you got hitched.

If you had a civil ceremony, same thing. The church do-over is a party in church. If it was that important to wed in a church, you should have done so.

If you can't decide whether to have the wedding in State A or State B because you and your spouse to be don't know who to burden with travel...and you split the difference with a second "wedding" in State B, see above.

How many times can you have this solemn occasion? Is this just a big chance for Bridezilla to get her Queen for a Day groove on and rack up some (or more) presents, even though she jumped the gun and already married Prince Charming?

My fiance' is a nut. He insists on having 9 men stand on his side. He said they are all his best friends and he wouldn't be able to cut any of them out. To make matters worse, he said he can't choose a best man. Instead he is referring to them as a covenant of best men. I do not feel like throwing people in our wedding just to make the sides even. I know they don't have to be even, but I only have about 4 girls that I would truly want to be in my wedding. What do I do because it doesn't seem like he is budging. Thanks for all of the great ideas...

My brother's fiance has asked me to be her maid of honor, when she and him get married sometime next year. She really wants me to be at her bachelorette party, but I will only be 17 by then, and there is NO WAY my mother and father, or even my brother for that matter would let me go.

Any ideas on what i should do?

We are on a hugely tight budget! So, what would be a really cool idea for gifts for my attendants? 4 adults (that are all smart asses) and 4 teens (19-b, 17 - b, 16 - g, and 15 -g)

I'm looking for a place to have my wedding reception and if possible the ceremony in the same place. I'm mainly looking for a reception hall though. I want a place where we can bring our own food. I've looked online and most don't allow outside catering. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My housekeeper and former co-worker wants to come to my wedding. Not only would it mean that her co-worker and my good friend would not be able to go (not everyone can get the night off from work), but she'll also be bringing her daughter, who will have her children with her (she'll be the mother of four very soon, most likely before my wedding). I can get over having children at my wedding, however, the reception is going to be at my Mom's house and she has clearly said there's just not enough room for children to be running around and she doesn't want to worry about having children in her house that she doesn't know, so I would not be comfortable if they did show up. So... what do I tell her? Do I invite her or not? It would be ok if it was just her, but not the kids.

My fiancé and I are getting married on September 21, 2007. We have just found out some information that we are not happy with about the venue we are currently holding the reception in. We are in the process of picking another venue, and with luck we’ve narrowed it down to two venues – the venues are our two favourite restaurants. Each venue has it’s pros and cons, but my fiancé and I are having trouble being objective so I’m hoping that’s where you can help out. Based on the pros and cons that I list for each restaurant, can you voice your concerns, your preference, whatever. Price of the actual food is not an issue with these restaurants.

We are having a destination wedding and want it to be close friends and family. We are going to be mailing out invitations within the next month, as the wedding is Feb. 2, and we want to give people enough time for arrangements. Our issue is that his mother and my uncle keep telling distant family to come, they are inviting them to our wedding. We have talked to both of them about keeping it small, that we don't want distant relatives (some we haven't spoken to in years). As a couple we do not think it's right to invite distant family, as it is an expense for them, and don't want to look like we are asking for gifts. We will be having a party in the spring for all family and friends. My question is, how do we get these family members to stop inviting everybody? And can someone tell me the invite rule, isn't something like if you have talked to them in the past year you can send them an invite or something?
Thank you for your help.

My grandmother raised me and she just passed. My heart is broke and I was planning my wedding for September 6, 2008 a day before her birthday. I'm so confused I wanted to show her that I could plan a nice event and she was so excited about the wedding. Now I just feel like canceling plans and going to the justice of peace!?! What should I do? Should I still have have the wedding I wanted and make it like a celebration of life for my grandmother?!? By having a slide show of her wedding playing durning the reception? I'm so confused!

Hi! All of these guests are people from my office - I've been back at work from my honeymoon for over a week and haven't even received a "congrats" or even just a card congratulating us. Plus, some of them keep going on about how great the food was - the food I paid $78 per guest for! I am very frustrated, but afraid I'm sounding too whiny about this. Do I have a right to be angry about this? I know I can't say anything but I can't force myself to be nice to these people either. Thanks!
