The reception is already set to be in Dickinson, TX it was 15 min. from where the ceremony was suppose to be.

So she needs something that is close to that city like Galveston, TX etc..

Why can't they exchange vows at the reception location? Maybe there's even a lawn or garden or somewhere on the grounds. Have her call the reception place and see what they can do.

It's actually very intimate and nice when all the guests just sort of gather around the couple while they exchange vows -- and they could do that right there on the dance floor. Nothing says it has to be a giant formal event; the wedding is about the two of them exchanging vows.

OMG! How long had she had the place reserved? How long have they known they'll be going out of business! How rude of them!

I suggest calling around to every thinkable venue that would be suitable for the event. Unfortunately, with only two weeks to go before the big day, finding a place that would be available will be the biggest problem. Look in the Yellow Pages, search on Google, beg, plead, do anything and everything you can!

Good luck and I certainly hope y'all find a place in time!

We had our wedding outdoors at a local park with a gazebo. Maybe there's a city nearby with a picturesque place like that? Contact the city if you know of one, ask if they take reservations.

How about a park or garden that is nearby or even someone's backyard.
