My brother's fiance has asked me to be her maid of honor, when she and him get married sometime next year. She really wants me to be at her bachelorette party, but I will only be 17 by then, and there is NO WAY my mother and father, or even my brother for that matter would let me go.

Any ideas on what i should do?

I'm sure the bride realizes you will be 17 and will plan something appropriate. Not all bachelorette parties are crazy events - sometimes it can just be a day at the spa or a comedy show event. Wait and see what she suggests.

Most bachelorette parties involve bars, and you wouldn't be able to go anyway. Since the bride-to-be wants you there, maybe she can adjust the party a bit - dinner at a fun place, followed by dancing & bar hopping for those of age.

A lot of brides (and grooms) are electing NOT to have the traditional crazy night of drinking and instead having a day (or weekend) away with their buddies. A lot of guys go camping, girls do spa days, etc.

A bachelorette party does not have to involve drinking, strippers, or anything like that. It's supposed to be the bride and her friends getting together to celebrate her upcoming marriage.

Perhaps you could all do a nice dinner together or something? Hard to tell for sure without knowing where you're from.

Good luck!

my friend's sister was too young to go out with us for the bachelorette party...and my friend really wanted to go out to the bars. So, we had two nights (so the sister could go to one). The first night we went out to eat at a nice restaurant (this was bridesmaids only). The second night we did more typical bachelorette party stuff (this excluded the sister, but we invited other friends to come).

I also had a friend that just went out to eat and then they went to someone's apt. She had 2 girls that were underage. That way they could drink if they wanted but they were in a safe environment.

I had another friend that went out to eat and then bowling when she had underage girls in her wedding. This way you are in a fun atmosphere and those that are legal can drink if they would like.

*ask the bride what she really wants to do, so that you know what kind of night to plan*

Not all bachelorette parties are at the bar, or involve boozing or sleazy stuff. These days they might be a spa day, or going bowling, out to dinner and a movie, etc.

There CAN be "minor safe" bachelorette parties.

Talk to your mom, have her help you plan the bachelorette party that can be done with you included.

Well, it depends on what is planned for this party. Will there be male strippers and booze flowing? Well, then it would not be a good idea to go, not to mention illegal for you as far as the booze goes.
