Ok, so I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I still have my dad and of course I'm going to dance with him at my wedding. But my godfather is a very big part of my life and I want to dance with at my wedding also. We want to even it out anyway because I'll dance with my dad, he'll dance with his mom and then his step mom so since I dont have a stepdad, I want to dance with my uncle. I'm not sure of what song to dance to though. I've always thought of Hero by Bette Midler. Does anyone else have any suggestions??? Thanks

Also, I can't let my uncle pick it. Its going to be a surprise. My uncle is a very emotional type and hates to be the center of attention. I dont want him to say not to worry about it. It means too much to me!

how old is he......find out his age and then look around for a really nice song from his era (when he was younger)......there are wonderful wedding songs from every era. if you tell us his age, we can find a nice one from back in his day for you to hear :-)

Well, traditionally it is up to the father...or in your case your uncle, to pick out the dance song. Brides have started taking over the decision when we started planning every part of our weddings ourselves. However, if you always thought of Hero (or are you talking about Wind Beneath My Wings?) then you should go with that song. I think that song, "What A Wonderful World" is a pretty song too. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. Enjoy every part of it and remember to relax and appreciate everyone who showed up to celebrate it with you :)

I swear it's just the prettiest song... (honestly maybe it's more to dance with your dad).. But look up the lyrics or download the song... ... I totally made my dad cry with this song @ my wedding.. (I got married 2 months ago)... CONGRATS on your big day and best of luck to you!

If Hero is what you've always wanted, why not use it? Something that already has meaning to you connected to him will be better than anything we can suggest here.
Go ahead and use the song you've been thinking of...unless your godfather has a better suggestion.

I know that "butterfly kisses"is the most common
father daughter dance...my friend danced with her dad & step dad on that song.its your wedding dance to what you want to.
