Because technically the wedding band goes behind the engagement ring, right? So should I not wear it during the ceremony, or wear it and just flip the rings around before the reception?

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand for the ceremony and had my husband put it on with my wedding band after the ceremony.

You can wear it on the other hand, then put it over the wedding band after the ceremony.
You need to have the hand bare which will be accepting the wedding band.
For me, putting it on the other hand's ring finger meant that it was a little big there (not in danger of falling off, though) - and when I see the video of the ceremony, I was nervously twisting that engagement ring around my finger, kind of spinning it around, with my thumb. Really funny!

the engagement ring should be removed from the ring finger of the left hand during the ceremony. The bride can wear it on her right hand or give it to the Maid of Honor or leave it at home. after the wedding ring is placed she can put the engagement ring back on, the wedding ring goes on first so that it is closest to her heart and then the engagement ring

The bride could a) leave the engagement ring at home; b) wear it on the opposite hand; c) wear it on the same finger as the wedding band would go on, and during the ceremony the groom would remove the engagement ring, put on the wedding band on her finger, and replace the engagement ring on the same finger. It's completely up to the bride and groom. I'd leave it at home; makes things simple - and trust me, no one will notice.

yes you change the wedding band to go behind the engagement ring because the wedding band is suppost to be closer to your heart (do this after the ceremony and pictures). There is a vein that runs from your ring finger directly to your heart and that is why you wear the rings on that particular finger.

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand during the ceremony. Before we walked back up the aisle, I slipped my engagement ring on top of my wedding band.

My Mum looked after my engagement ring until after the ceremony. I could have worn it on my right hand but I really wanted to wear a ring that I inherited from my Grandmother as she is no longer with us and couldn't be there in person.

This is one of those funny things...it depends upon where you are from. In the U.S., it is customary for the bride to wear her engagement ring on the second finger of her left hand. During the ceremony, when rings are called for, the groom is supposed to remove the engagement ring, place the wedding ring on the bride's finger, then replace the engagement ring. Then, the bride will place the wedding ring on the grooms second finger of the left hand...
