We are thinking of bringing the wedding forward to Friday 15th August 2008.
Just wondering what day you married on and if it worked for you?

We broke all the rules and got married on a Tuesday!! We live in Greece and it's practically unheard of here to get married on a weekday. We did it like that to coincide with the flights my family were on, otherwise the wedding would have been on ther last day of their week here, meaning having to go straight to the airport after the reception. My husbands family were really annoyed about it as several people couldn't come as they had to work, but as I politely pointed out, my family had to take a week off work to be there, so an afternoon off for people who lived here was no hardship!!!

It worked out well for us as the church service was quiet (just what we wanted) and more people came to the night do.

I came to live in Greece on 25.10.02
We got married on 25.10.05
First baby due 25.10.07

Whatever day you get married on, all the best and enjoy it!!!

August 25, 2007. It was a Saturday. It worked better for us than during the week just because of work schedules. Most people are M-F 8-5. Anyways, congrats!!! Have fun planning!!! My only words of advice are to take time off after the wedding!!!!

We got married on a Saturday as I had family coming from all over. They were there Friday night so we all had a big pre-wedding party. They satyed till the Sunday and we all had Sunday breakfast together, was lovely to be able to relax and not worry about if aunty would get there on time!
Don't think it matters when you get married, as long as you tell people in enough advance (send out save the date cards, asap) so they can get hte time off work, you don't want people rushing to get to your wedding cos they've just got to take that one last call from a client... you need calm!!

We got married 3 weeks ago, on thursday 9th aug. We only decided to do it a month before and didn't expect many people to come. We decided on a bbq/garden party to save money. In total 50 people came. We were lucky that the sun was shining and everyone had a great time. Some even said it was the best wedding they'd been to. Total cost for food and drink - 200 quid.

I got married on a Friday (28/05/04), no problem. A lot of people are doing it these days and it's not because it's cheaper than the weekend like some people say because I didn't find anything cheaper! The reason we did it on a Friday was because we had already booked our honeymoon and were flying out early on the Sunday and didn't want to be rushed.

I got married on Wednesday 3rd August 2005 at 3.30 pm. We wanted to get married on that particular date and it just happened to fall on a Wednesday. We didn't want a huge wedding there was about 50 in all. We invited about 20 to the service and the rest came to the reception. Only one person couldn't come as he couldn't get the time off from work.

Friday evening weddings and Sunday brunch weddings are becoming more and more popular and are just as beautiful and elegant as a Saturday afternoon or evening wedding. If planning on a Friday evening wedding make sure you take into account people needing time to get out of work, get changed and organized before they can get to the wedding.

I got married Friday April 27th 2007 at 7.30 pm in Vegas. It was lovely having a evening wedding and being driven back to the hotel on the strip when it was all lit up, very romantic!

We got married on Sunday, September 25, 2005. We chose Sunday because that is when most Greek Orthodox weddings take place. It worked out well because most people left the reception early because of having to work the next day, and we were home by 10:30pm !!
