We know each other pretty well, but it's rare that we get the occasion to just talk. This weekend my fiance and I are going to their cabin in the mountains. We'll be home alone and the guys are going fishing.

She loves to talk about her family etc.. but give me some ideas. Should I bring up our wedding, or her future grand kids?

what was the first thought in your head,
when he/she proposed to you?
when you woke up to the day of your wedding?

My fiancee and I are getting married in Alaska in June and spending two weeks in Alaska thereafter (just he and I). We are planning on having a reception at some point thereafter to celebrate with family and friends. We want to have the reception in a town about 4 hours from us (in the town where the majority of our family/friends are located), and would have family/friends coming from out of town for the occasion. I wanted to have the reception at at a vacation rental home (so that both my finacee and I, as well as some of the out of town guests, would have somewhere to stay afterward), but one company told us they couldn't do that because of fire rescritions. Does anyone have any ideas?
Help please!

I'd like to ask cause I'm just curious about this. When you marry someone outside of your religion, do you necessarily need to convert to their religion to be able to get married. It came to my mind the movie "MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING". How do you mix 2 religion in the whole ceremony including the reception.

We're going to go there in a couple weeks. Is it easy to just go there and find a place? Does anyone have any advice on which one would be good or on prices or anything?

I have a light blue sash on my wedding gown (that I bought online at Target.com). I purchased a tie from Target.com (from the same designer) that I thought would match, but, when it arrived, I realized that it is quite a bit darker then the sash on my dress. I would really like the tie to match the dress more closely. I've heard of dyeable shoes, but is there such a thing as a dyeable tie? If so, where could I purchase one? Any other ideas? Thanks for your help!

I have some friends and co-workers that I want to invite to our wedding ceremony (it's a big church) and then to the dancing part of the reception, but not the sit-down dinner. I hang out with them occassionally and have a good relationship so want them to be part of my day but are not as close as my family and friends that I've known for years - and of course there is the cost. Is that okay?

Long story short my fiance and I decided to have a small wedding party of two people each. I had decided not to have his sister in my party after she got pregnant and couldn't pay her bills (she couldn't even afford milk one day) When she found out she wasn't included I told her in the nicest way possible without even letter her know I was once considering her for a bridesmaid.

Now after suffering a miscarriage she has it out for me. She is going to family friends (not family) telling them how she wasn't allowed to be in the wedding and carrying on to the point where family friends are calling my future mother in law asking why I won't have her in the wedding.

What can I do to make this better without inviting her in the wedding? At 33 years old she should realize that she can't get everything she wants - especially when she can't buy a gallon of milk for her and her son.

A friend of mine is getting married to her boyfriend of 8 years. They were going to have a formal wedding, but "The moms" were making plans they did NOT want. Now, they are going on a "weddingmoon" with the kids. My friend is a seamstress. For their special day, she made her own dress. It's a 100% cotton, empire waist, ankle length dress, with blue ribbon around the bust. She has made the same style of dresses for her daughters (same color as the ribbon). She has also made matching shirts for her fiancee and son. She's all ready made her bouquets, boutineers, and 3 hair pieces. She showed me the dresses, and I thought they were cute. They aren't going to wear any shoes because the ceremony is going to be on the beach. "The moms" think their clothing is cheap and tacky. The clothing she made, is VERY well made. What do you think of their choices?

Do you think that bright and bold shades of colors like pink, blue, and green (not all together) are inappropriate for a fall wedding?

Also, would teal and turquoise and brown work for an October wedding?

for camera editing/design/etc. He knows that I haven't done much with video lately and that I'll have to borrow a camera. Do you think he's expecting a lot? What should I ask him to make sure I do everything he is expecting? I don't want to mess anything up! And how much should I charge? Should I do it for free since I'm not experienced?

My fiance and I are getting married in three weeks. Both of my parents are dead so his Mom has been a huge help! She has a large beautiful home and we will be having the ceremony and recpeton there. Here is the glitch ...75% of our invited guests are non drinkers and a good amount of children wil be there. But, the biggest reason we want to have no alcohol is my soon to be mother in law has a tendency to over indulge. Neither me nor my fiance want to "babysit" her or be embarrassed if she does. We are going to sit down to iron out the details next weekend. What is a polite yet efficent way to tell her there is to be no alcohol? I'm afraid it is going to be a touchy subject as it is her home. Help!

I like all kinds of music, literally, but I don't want to do the stereotypical "What a Wonderful World" (though it is one of my favorite songs) or "Wind Beneath My Wings" for the mother and groom dance. Some one please help? Thank you!!!
