Worst - A 3-D cube that holds pictures.
I think you should personalize gifts to your wedding party, even if that means each person gets something different. You should recognize them as the individual they are and the importance that has on being chosen to be in your wedding, as opposed to just fulfilling the obligation of getting them something. We gave our groomsmen zippo lighters that had emblems on them that was unique to their personality, like a john deere tractor or a stack of cards for that poker enthusiast - there were hundreds to choose from - then we had their initials engraved on it. For the bridesmaids, I had purses made that had a picture on the side - one had my friends little girl on it (who was also the flower girl), one had a wild picture of us at my bach party for the party girl of the bunch, etc.

Best- a big stack of Rives paper. It showed me that the bride had taken time to give a gift that meant something to me and I would appreciate instead of picking up some generic blanket gifts.
Worst- sterling silver compact. I don't wear a ton of makeup, who wants to sit and polish their compact?, and worst of all she put HER name and wedding date on there.

1) BEST: expensive necklace, professional massage, nice underwear
2) WORST: $5 gas card (for a wedding we all had to fly across country to), amazingly horrific make up that we had to use, a book (12 page pamplet) of what were to wear to the wedding how to act--it included everything from the color of our panties to the shade of our hair, and last but certainly not lease...calendars from the year before.

We did personalized compacts from this place: http://www.kyledesigns.com/ Each one had a different design for each person's personality. They loved them and it was nicer in a way than jewelry because it would have been impossible to find jewelry that would have appealed to everyone.
