Anybody know if there any places in NYC that do wedding packages? Like one fee for an entire wedding? Not just photography.

I am a first grade teacher getting married in June (after school is out). I really want a flower girl in my wedding. I am wondering if it would be appropriate to ask the parents of one of my students if their daughter can be in my wedding. I am concerned that it might seem unprofessional. I am also concerned that it might be seen as favoritism or cause jealousy among the other girls in my class (although, since the wedding isn't until school is out, I think the parents and I could keep it a secret from the flower girl until the school year is over -- that would greatly minimize the chance of other kids finding out or being jealous).

I do have one other option. My cousin has a little girl who will be about 2 1/2 or 3 in June. The downsides are that she is rather young and I have only met her twice, so it wouldn't be quite as meaningful to me to have her in the wedding.

What do you think?

So I really think that diamonds are so over played and I really don't want one.. I told my boyfriend that I would rather have a pearl. My mom thinks that I am crazy.

Can you get a marriage license in one county (the one I live in for example) and then use it in the one where you plan to marry?

I'm getting married in SF and it would be easier to get the license locally vs SF.

I think the 3 bridesmaids will all be different sizes. Drastically different sizes. The (likely) maid of honor is a bigger girl & one is slightly overweight & the other is tiny tiny. I am concerned that I won't be able to find something that they all look good in and feel comfortable in. The wedding may be outdoors (still undecided) so I'm not sure if that matters. I was thinking maybe the same skirt with the same top just in different styles (strapless, halter, etc.) or the same color of dress in different styles, or maybe having one unique item for each one like a shawl, gloves, etc. (but not to the extent that it looks weird) any suggestions or tips?

My fiancee and I have been engaged for a while, with no date set yet. Last year, his mother and her boyfriend told us that they already have our wedding present: the honeymoon. But not just any honeymoon. She recently bought a timeshare in Las Vegas, and with the timeshare got a pack of coupons for free trips to other timeshares around the world.

Since then, she and my fiancee have become estranged for unrelated reasons, and they recently have been talking to each other occasionally, just small talk. But if the honeymoon comes up again, how do you tell someone you don't want their gift?

Frankly, I want out honeymoon to be special, and not stressful. I don't want to go to some unknown timeshare property of unknown quality. I don't want the possibility of being subjected to a sales pitch as part of the free vacation. I'd rather go on a cruise or rent a house in the mountains.

the flowers we have chosen r red roses (of course) and calla lilies. with the exception of the bridesmaids who will b wearing simple black satin gowns and carry mainly white roses w/ red for a splash of color. we also decided to use the joined hearts as a theme

My B/F, was baptised Methodist, but had his Communion and Confirmation in a Catholic church, is it necessary for him to be baptised as a Catholic?. And in my case I have not been confirmed yet, is that something necessary as well?. If you would provide me with some link for me to show him, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance

Small, intimate wedding that is SUPERfly, or bigger wedding (min. 150 people) that is a little less superfly, and take a very nice vacation to a SUPERfly resort, or save the money? Or, better yet, get married downtown and keep the cash? Or, maybe destination? So many choices ...

We were just engaged a week and a half ago and want to plan a wedding for THIS December. Any useful tips on how to go about planning a small, very cheap wedding? We want to have around 80 guests or less, affordable catering, and the entire even to be held in the church (wedding and reception). We are not having a dance or anything like that, just food and non-alcoholic drinks for the reception. Does anybody have good ideas for inexpensive centerpieces, dresses, and everything else we'll be needing to pull this off? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

We really want to go to Venice more than anything, but we just don't know if we'll be able to afford it or not. Is there any other cool places that we could go? Or do you know how expensive a normal honeymoon is? We live in the U.S., and we really had our hearts set on Venice, Italy. But we're willing to hear any other options that are out there that could be cheaper. Thanks!

my brother is getting married in two weeks. his friends are throwing him a bachelor party.....but his friends are all losers and have no money for a stripper. i don't want my brother to miss out on a bachelor party~~~!!! this is only his second marriage and this wife to be is MEAN!!! once he's married he won't be allowed to to anything. what i'm getting at is...would it be ok if i was the stripper at my brother's bachelor party? i would do it for free, as a wedding gift, so that would save everyone money. what do you think??? and don't judge me!!! i'm an old pro at this, i used to be a go go dancer in the 60's, so i do know what i'm doing.

I am amazed by the amount of answers justifying brides' nasty behavior by saying "it's her day." Just because it's her wedding day, does not give her the right to treat family and friends with such total disregard to their feelings. Yes, within limits, she can make the choices about her wedding. But she should not blatantly ignore the feelings of and alienate loved ones for her own selfish whims.

I know I'm gonna get a lot of flak for this question. Bring it on!

Ive been saving for a house for about 4 years. I met her and we decide to get married. She does not want to live in a house I want because her kids will have to change schools and she says its a crappy neighbor hood.. I dont see a problem with that since they are not passing the majority of their subjects. About 1 year ago she recieved several thousand$. I said " hey if you really want to get a house try saving some of that and ill come up with the other half. Well she doubled in salary since then and spent all she had on nothing. She is not willing to sacrafice having the best cable , constantly eating out, etc, etc, etc. to save a few bucks. she says "i want to to spend $180 on my cell bill if i want. BY the way the house is a 3 bdrm 2 full bath, .25 acre that needs minor repair. I can definitely afford this house its about $90,000 less than other homes ive looked at. An i anticipate maybe spending anothe 5000 to get it goin good. I just need some advice

I know that this is entirely dependent on my fiance and I and our relationship, but I figured I'd just see what people thought (that plus I've hit my limit for answers for today). My fiance and I are in our mid to late 20's, stable promising careers, and both know that we would like a family. How long after our wedding before we start a family? Do we spend some time being newlyweds, or proceed towards parenthood at the honeymoon? How long after the first til the second?
