I know that my boyfriend is going to propose to me soon because I picked out the ring and everything & our 3 year anniversary is right around the corner. I want to know how I can get him to be excited about proposing to me? He thinks he can just put the ring in my hand and say "let's get hitched" pretty much. He isn't very romantic. Im afraid my "big" proposal day isn't going to be so big and memorable. Any ideas or suggestions...?

My 87-year-old grandfather (who's been married to my grandmother for 60 years (: ) wears a wedding band, as does my 53-year-old father, but I've noticed that a lot of older men don't wear them. When did wedding bands for men become common practice?

Were going on a 7 day get-away, 10 wedding anniversary trip. Would you dress up on your wedding anniversary and have a celebration dinner, take pictures etc, even when your on a get-away trip? I was thinking of a pretty lavender dress, with hubby dressed in a pair of casual slacks with a matching lavender shirt.. He said he doesn't want to 'dress up in a monkey suit".LOL!

I read a newspaper article today that quoted a woman with the last name of Rine-Stone (I swear). It got me to thinking about what some other funny hyphenated names might be. For example, if Jane Snow married John White, she'd be Snow-White. If Joy Summer married Kevin Winter, she's be Summer-Winter. If Becky Gnu married Bobby York, she'd be Gnu-York. What other ones can you come up with?

I am having my wedding in April of next year at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth TX. I have 3 bride’s maids and 3 groom’s men.
I have created an “Honored Court” which means that I have girl friends ranging from the age of 20 to 65 that are helping me in the wedding and I am giving them special recognition for doing so by putting them in the wedding as an “Honored Court Member.” They will come in when the court is presented.

My dress has a Champagne Sash: (see link below)
http://www.brides.com/search/image/detail/138566?search_string=judd%20waddell&spage=i&page=2&offset=15

Here is my issue………. Do I separate my Honored Court and Brides maids by color? If so how? I wanted honeydew green, but is putting all the girls in that color going to be too much? I don’t think I want Champagne because I think it will look to light in the sun…. HELP!

If you have any other color combos that do not include honeydew green and you think it works with my wedding please let me know.

My mom did this and she could never explain why since she wasn't fat before and looked scrawny in her wedding photos. She met my Dad when she was at the heavier weight. A lot of women do this. I mean, if he falls in love with you at that size, why should you be embarrassed to walk down the aisle at that size? I don't really get it

My fiance and I are having a private ceremony and having our reception/after party on a later date but its still going to be set up like a regular wedding reception. I was thinking about creating a nice program to give to the guest when they enter which speaks about my fiance and i which will be my husband and I. I was thinking about including a picture of us on the front of it and putting the actual date we got married, when and where we met, our high school names, birthdays, just some random stuff about us... can you help me think of something unique I can add to the program.

Ill also have on their when we will do our toast, lightning of a unity candle., first dance, and cutting of our COngratulations cake... trying to make it like a real reception but the only thing we are going to already be married for maybe a month or two.

I JUST WANT SOME OTHER IDEAS, THAT I MAY NOT THINK OF ... YOU GUYS ARE GREAT...

THANKS LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU

I have no father, no grandfather, no older brothers, no older male figure that I'm really all that close to. I'd honestly just like to skip the isle all together.

What I'd like to do is to have a nice dinner and get married there infront of our guests while they sit at their tables.

I don't want the room divided either. You know brides side, grooms side. I only have about 12 friends to invite. he has his parents, his siblings (7 of them) friends etc. It would look stupid to have all these people on one side and so few on the other.

Did anyone do anything similar? How did it go?

I have not had a relationship with my father for many years and that's OK with me. I'm getting married this month and have asked my boss, who is practically a father to me, to walk me down the aisle. Now we are making the programs and I'm wondering what kind of title he should have. Any ideas?

The wedding is in two weeks, which is plenty of time for me to learn a song. This is my older sister's wedding, and I'm going to sing while people are being seated and stuff. Something sweet I guess. I'm a first soprano in 2 choirs so i can handle the harder pieces, but I have no idea of what i should do. I was thinking a traditional hymn, but I'm not so sure since the groom isn't super religious.

I am not getting married until this coming spring, but a situation has come up that I would like to figure out ahead of time. The day after my fiance and I announced our wedding date, his cousin called to say he is getting married the next day and specifically asked that we be there. He also promised to come to ours (though I'm guessing his bride to be wasn't consulted about that!).
Family, including extended family, is incredibly important to my fiance and he (and now I too) make an effort to go to as many family events as possible.

But I'm thinking this is one request that won't be possible to fulfill w/o the two of us being miserable. I mean, the next day? I would be shocked if they are at our wedding (I definitely won't be going to any the day before ours) and think we'll be way too exhausted to go to theirs. I'm also of the opinion that his cousin was out of line to even ask.

So I'm asking: should we even consider this? Or is it fair to decline?

My fiance and I are gettin married in july. We are having the traditional morning suit, pin stripes, waistcoat, pink cravat etc.
Anyway, my fiances grandparents (well, nan) likes to get involved and usually finds a 'comment'. Anyhow, she said that his grandad wants a suit (Grandad hasn't said a word...) but nan wants him to wear a suit as she thinks he wont be in the photos. he will be, but not the main wedding party photos, as thats for parents, best man, ushers etc.
Also I have no grandad father or elderly relative to compliment him. I think he would loook out of place in a trendy looking morning suit, as a 80yr old.
I really dont mind, bt I though it was rude the way his mum and nan just said (without asking me first) that ''your grandad wants a suit, please hire one!!'' CHARMING!!!!

I need help with the music for my wedding next month. I have a pianist lined up to play, but my problem is I don't know how much music I need to have picked out. How many songs and for which parts do I pick music out for? Any suggestions on really nice songs for the ceremony? Do I only pick out music at certain times when people are walking in and if so then which people and then the lighting of the unity? Sorry guys, I just don't even know where to begin. I guess I'm not on the up of wedding music. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

When she gets married. It's been that way for years in our family.

She has been giving me so much grief - I'm ready to give up and call it quits.

She needs to wear this down the isle - no matter what.

Tell me what you think of the dress - I'm just so ticked off right now!!

Me and my BF had an arguement the other day but since we are both stubborn neither of us called for 2 days. Then finally Saturday I broke down and texted him asking if he loved me, just to break the ice. He texted back yes. Then I called he didn't answer, then I text no answer. This started at about 6:30 by like 8 i stopped cus i was just pissed he was ignoring me. My friends call ask me to come out, so to take my mind off of him, i went. At 11:30 he texts asking if i feel the same way he does, like ****? I said no that i was fine. He then shows up where i am cus now he wants 2 talk. Long story short he said alot but what sticks in my head is that he is scared that he might cheat on me and that maybe we need time off. It's not him talking it's his friends sayin he should be single like them. What would you do if your partner that 2 u? Do u end it or fear that they will cheat, but now he swears he wont. Im the 1st real GF he has had in 2 yrs and over the 2 yrs he hit the books!

Im looking for the name of a wedding song, or if anyone knows of a website of where it is, or where to find it, that would be helpful.

It tells the story of someones marriage, and has the tune to "Morning has Broken"

Thanks

I want to sell my wedding dress but no one seems to want it. I have it posted on Craig's List and I have asked everyone I know and I still haven't came up with anything. It's not like it's an old rag or anything. I bought it a little over a year ago and it's been sitting in my closet ever since.
I have had 2 women interested in buying my dress but the first one made me a victim of fraud and the second seems to want to do the same.
