Now that the wedding/reception is done and over with, I have 10 disposable cameras... some of them are pretty much full so I will go ahead and get those developed, but the ones that just have a few pictures on them, should I use regularly until it is more full? I know when you get cameras developed they charge you per picture, so I know it would be cheaper to get 5 pictures developed rather than 25, but if Im only getting 5 pictures out of the camera, was it a waste of money on the camera?

What would you do? Finish filling the cameras? Or get them developed now?

For the record, my digital camera broke a couple months back, so I always use disposable cameras (until I can get another digital)... I usually have one in my purse with me...

Thanks!

ask your father(or other significant male) for your hand in marriage??

Do you think it's an old tradition that should be forgotten or do you believe more people should go back to doing it that way?

Thoughts and opinions?!?!?!

My sister asked my two daughters to be bridesmaids aged 2 and 3. We had a great day then about eight weeks after the wedding she asked for the bridesmaid dresses back, after giving them to the children.. I had a big argument with her about it saying that the children had played dressing up in them and calling themselves princess as you do when your young!! I had my daughter crying for days.. I won't speak to her do you think that she should apologize???

I have a friend who is in competition with me, I announced that I am marrying my partner next year, a week later she is
getting wed to a man she hardly knows, they had a one
night stand 2 years ago live in different countries and are now getting wed.

They were not in a relationship when she got pregnant, she took the morning after pill but it failed and she had the son.

THis man has only seen his 20 month old son once, she took the son, they were not in a relationship before the journey, now all of a sudden they are getting wed!

She is questioning the strength of my relationship, I have been with my fella for 4 years, lived with him for 3!!

She plans to live with her man for 3 months before she marries him!

I told her that I think she is making a big mistake and I told her that she is dating this guy she is not in a relationship with him!

I am planning my wedding and she is making comments and saying her rings and dress is better etc!

what should i do?

I live in the UK, and my stepsister is getting married in France next week and most of my family from NZ will be attending. My Dad forwarded the invite on to me assuming that I would be invited. A few days later my Dad told me my stepsister had said that I wasn't invited because I got too drunk when went on a family holiday 2 years ago (they think I wouldn't be able to control myself for one afternoon-I'm 26yo btw) Anyway, I had bought the ticket and when they found this out, they made my Dad call me and uninvite me due to this holiday "incident". He felt terrible and while I can appreciate that I wasn't invited in the first place, I think it was a bit extreme to go to the effort to uninvite me when we've had no problems before. Today, I've received a group email inviting us all to their NZ wedding ceremony. I don't want to go, but feel I should to keep the peace? Should I go?(I'll be in NZ at the time anyway) I feel I should add that we never have any family dramas-this is the first.

I'm doing a research project and I hardly use the internet so I have difficulty paraphrasing stuff that I find. If you can, please paraphrase the following 3 paragraphs for me. thanks.

Mehendi (Henna): Decking up the bride The 'Mehendi' celebration is a lighthearted affair with no religious connotation. Henna is the eco friendly and natural tattoo paste made from the roots of the Henna plant. It has the unique property of soothing and cooling the wearer. This event has no pre designate time in the flow of ceremonies, normally forming a continuation of sangeet, the ladies of the house draw intricate patterns on their hands, arms and feet. The most intricate and complicate patters being reserved for the bride. In some households the groom too is given a spot on the pals the benefit from the properties of Henna.

Jaggo: The Jaggo ceremony is where the family dances and sings on the road in front and around the beautifully decorated wedding home. Jaggo is in the last hours of the night. They decorate copper vessels called "gaffers" with divas (clay lamps) and fill them with mustard oil and light them. The bride/bridegrooms maternal aunt (mammi) carries it on her head, and another lady will have a long stick with bells, and she will be shaking it. The ladies will then go into other friends and families homes and be welcomed by sweets and drinks, they will then dance there and move on. It is a loud ceremony, filled with joy, dancing, fireworks, and food. And if the family wishes the ladies' sangeet (ladies night of singing) and mendhi will follow the mayian and dinner.

Chuda Chadana The white bangles This ceremony is also held on the morning of the weddingthe bride's maternal uncles give her a set of choodas (21 bangles in red and white ivory) after washing them in milk. As per tradition, the bride should ideally wear these for at least a year. Nowadays the bride wears the chooda for a month and a quarter.

I've been attending many weddings and most of them are my former school mates. The last 2 weddings I went to I felt said, because I wish I was the bride marching to the altar.

Here is my question in a longer version: I want to have the kind of honeymoon where we spend most of it in the hotel room lol and doing romantic things around the city. I don't want it to turn into one of our usual trips where we sightsee and such. Is this wrong of me? Should I let it influence our decision on where to go?

I found one at David's Bridal that is similar to what I am looking for, however the beading is kind of cheap looking. If anyone has seen a dress like this- please let me know!

To make my groom and I kiss, we are going to show off some couples at the wedding reception and then make them kiss and then we will have to immitate their kiss.

For example: I'm going to have the wedding guests that are all married stand up, and narrow the group down so we can figure out who has been married that longests. When the oldest married couple is identified. They willl have to kiss and then we will copy their kiss.

I will also have out DJ identify the couple that came from the furthest away and then copy their kiss.

Figure out who has known the bride and the groom the longest... the parents of course and copy them.

But those are the only three questions I could come up with.

Any other good ideas to pick out couples in the crowd and narrow it down to copy their kiss?

I live in Ohio. My Uncle and Aunt live in Ponte Vedra Florida .. thats where they got married, on the beach.

It was gorgeous and i've always wanted a beach wedding.
My Grandparents drive to Florida to see them every few months. Take about 8 hours to get there.

We're only having about 60 people at our wedding. Just close family.

Do you think this would work? =)

I'm good friends with the couple, and since they already live together and have much of what they want, have decided to give them cash. I have a number in my head, but when I mentioned it to a friend, she said it was too much.

What do you think would be an appropraite dollar amount to give as a gift?

Like the limo? We'd have them pay less than the bridesmaids still, but it's hard to cover everything without help! Or is it just tacky?

How involved is the mother of the groom in the typical wedding planning process? Are there "traditional" things I should be asking her to do?

My FMIL drives me out of my tree, but I don't want to make her feel left out. Is it normal for the bride and her mom to do most of the stuff? Just for reference, she lives across the country.

My Sister has had a rough two to three years. She was in a serious car accident, then had a child when she didn't know she was pregnant. She has turned to drinking, and is currently in rehab (the drinking has caused her to b/c nasty). She has always been irresponsible. She doesn't have a job, she has no long term goals for herself, basically she just doesn't care. BUT...She's my sister, and would be heartbroken if I didn't ask her to be my maid of honor. At the same time though, is it okay for me to be selfish for my special day?

I appreciate all of your thoughts.

Vatna: The cleansing ceremony On the eve before the wedding, the bride and groom (at their respective homes) are cleansed with turmeric paste. This ceremony is performed to cleanse and cool the body, and signifies the cleansing of the soul. 'Uptan' is a paste made of sandalwood, turmeric and rose water, this is applied by seven married female members of the families, to the face, hands and feet of the bride and groom.

After this ceremony the bride and the groom are barred from exposing themselves to the elements (environmental, physical & emotional) till the wedding ceremony.

Mehendi (Henna): Decking up the bride The 'Mehendi' celebration is a lighthearted affair with no religious connotation. Henna is the eco friendly and natural tattoo paste made from the roots of the Henna plant. It has the unique property of soothing and cooling the wearer.

The most intricate and complicate patters being reserved for the bride. In some households the groom too is given a spot on the pals the benefit from the properties of Henna.

Sangeet: Musical night Sangeet is a musical affair celebrating the joysness of the occasion. Usually held in conjunction with the 'mehendi' ceremony, is primarily a ladies function, held by each household separately for their guests.

Traditional marriage songs are sung to the beat of the drum.

Chuda Chadana The white bangles This ceremony is also held on the morning of the wedding. The pundit does a puja and the bride's maternal uncles give her a set of choodas (21 bangles in red and white ivory) after washing them in milk. As per tradition, the bride should ideally wear these for at least a year. Nowadays the bride wears the chooda for a month and a quarter.
For the bride's mother and father the maternal uncle gets gifts - nanke chaak.
As a symbol of best wishes and blessings, the sisters, sister-in-law and friends tie kaleeras made of thin silver and plated with gold on an iron bangle worn by the girl.
