Can anyone suggest any good outdoor places to have my May wedding in or near Waterford, MI?? Acceptable surrounding places would be: Clarkston, Grand Blanc, Davisburg, Lk Orion, Holly, Milford, Highland, Fenton...etc.

I want the ceromony at dusk out side and then the reception possibly out side with nice lighting and nice canopy tents....doesnt have to be at the same place but it would be a plus....and budget is a factor as well....

Im a bridesmaid for a wedding happening in December this year. (Its my Fiancee's sister, i have only met her twice as she lives in New Zealand and i in South Africa), she has chosen her cousin (who is roughly the same age as her & also one of my closest friends) to be maid of honour.

My problem is that the brides cousin professes that she loves the bride so much and they are soooo close and she is really happy and honoured that she is the maid of honour! But get this (I HAVE BEEN DOING ALL THE MAID OF HONOUR DUTIES) and she is just sitting back taking all the credit for it. I have told the bride and the brides mother so that they are aware of it. it took me 4hours to make the hens party invites and i handed them out on Saturday she politely turned around and said "i'm the maid of honour and she's doing all the work"!!! I really dont mind doing it as i have flexible hours but she needs to do some of it at least? Otherwise i should rightfully be MAID OF HONOUR? Please give me advice?

My parents want to help with the wedding, so do his. Both sets, as well as my Fi and I, agree that each set of parent should contribute equally.

They want us to decide (w/in reason) how much money would be helpful for use to pull off for our wedding.

My Fi and I said, that 5K is reasonable for both parties. My parents make good money (about 90-100K a year). His parents are pretty financial stable also.

So, do you think this is reasonable. This would not even be one large sum of money at one time. My parents might give $1000 for the photographer, then in 6 months another $1500 for the DJ.

What do you think? Is 5K reasonable.

We already have cut our guest list ALOT. We have come to a number of 140 people. 70 for both sides. This is pretty reasonable considering we have LARGE families. I have 13 immediate cousins, whom I'm all close with. Nearly half are married or in serious relationships. So, for them alone I'll be inviting........20-22 people. Not including my parents, my siblings and dates, my aunts and uncles, grandparents.....plus I do want some friend there.

It's the same for this family. We are only inviting people we are close to. However, we are close to a LOT of people.

So, far we have we have 10K saved for our reception. But, with 140 people....we will need at least another 3K to make the costs. The reception is very cheap for our area (city area) $70 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Good package too, lots of food/bar I've already factored in the initial $500 deposit too.

So, what to do? I'm sort 3K for the reception. But, I can't cut the list anymore.

I play piano and sing quite well so i have been told. I have friend that is about to get married and he wanted me to sing his wedding vows for him, since he was really never good with expressing himself. If you are familiar with the Jamie Foxx show, he wants me to sing the "Wedding Vows" song which fits perfectly. My only objection is that, i don't feel right because I feel that it is his moment to express himself. Ladies if you were the bride, how would you feel?

Any thoughts on having a reception/party for friends and family the following year? We couldn't figure out a way to involve friends and family without it costing, which is why we're eloping- but we wanted to formalize it somehow- we are sending out announcement cards after the elopement- it was the least we thought we should do.....

I'm getting married in a year, and really would love an Atelier Aimee gown from the Alta Sposa collection. Is there another designer/dress that is less costly but still retains that awesome original, unique, flowery, corset-y, and ornate style? Thanks!

I am a supporter of the Pink Ribbon campaign that helps make people aware of breast cancer and raises money for vital research. It's my engagement party in a few weeks and I was thinking of selling merchandise there. Not walking around shoving it in people's faces, more so just having a little tray of stuff (eg. pens, badges, magnets etc...) for people to buy if they choose to. Do you think this is inappropriate?

1. Does anyone know of a great place to find plus size wedding gowns that have at least a little sleeve?

2. Also looking for a place that would sell such dresses in not-so-conventional colors. I'm specificly looking for a light (very light) green, so light you can just barely tell it is green.

3. If such dress is found. What is your opinion on the best color for attendant's atire? An outdoor wedding (with adequate shelter) is being planned. No date set yet.

For part of our honeymoon we would like to spend 1-2 nights at the Poconos. After reading endless reviews I can't find a decent place to stay at. We would like to stay in a "romantic" room with a jacuzzi but are not fans of the heart shaped or champagne towers. Any ideas? Or recommendations? Thanks!

Recently my fiance and I got engaged and he didn't ask my father's permission because he knows how I feel about my father and didn't feel it was necessary. I have never been close with my father and he has always been into alcohol and drugs and that is part of the reason we are not close. We never have contacted either, only on special occasions, ie Christmas, father's day etc. Well ever since we got engaged he feels he has to be a part of my life but I don't want him to walk me down the aisle. I think he realized that I'm growing up and don't need him anymore. I don't want to hurt his feelings but I REALLY don't want him to walk me down the aisle. What is the best way to tell him?

How much do people typically pay for a wedding singer and pianist JUST for the ceremony? (We have a DJ for the reception.)

I have announced my engagement and plan to marry within a few months. A few people have asked me online to be invited to my wedding. I know that I can't due to limited budget and space. Was it rude of them to ask me online, or was it a nice way of asking for consideration? Should I even address them? If I do, how should I address them regarding the situation with limited space?

I have been with my boyfriend for 2 years. He is a great person to my kids but I look at him and don't know if I really want to get married or not. My kids say I'm dragging my feet but I was hurt really bad by their father and I am so afraid to be hurt again. I am wearing the engagement ring that he gave me but I don't know if I really want to get married again? Is that normal?

I am planning to get married this coming March and have no idea where to go for honeymoon. I want a romantic time and somewhere oversees to have a good and forever lasting experience. Also, any 5 star hotels anyone knows about would be nice to know. ;)

Due to circumstances beyond our control, my fianance and I can't openly get married. We would like to elope but not tell anyone and in a few years have a ceremony where we are married. When we get married for the second time we do not want anyone to know we are already married except the preacher. So we would want to have a license to sign at the reception. Is this possible?

I live in southeast michigan and my wedding is going to be next July. I was wondering if anybody knows of anybody knows of a place that has nice horse-drawn carriages for my wedding day (something along the lines of Cinderella) and also, about much would something like this run typically? If anybody knows of a place or has ever used one of the vendors...or even has advice against using a particular kind, I would really appreciate your help :)

I'm wondering how do I address people with "guests" ? I know typically that goes in the inner envelope, but my home kit does not include one and we're not going to use one. I read that putting "Jane Smith and Guest" is kind of tacky, but then how does Jane Smith know she's allowed to bring her date? Should I just include the name of her date on there even if they don't live together?

I asked my old best friend to be in my wedding when i first got engaged. Well, she never was a good friend to me and i realized this as i got older and i kind of felt the same way when i asked her. But i felt that i had known her for so long (10 plus years) that i wanted and felt she should be in my wedding. Well now, as more stuff happened over the months we no longer talk really ever and things are different between us. To make a really long story short..i am contemplating not having her not be in my wedding...but obliviously that would be a really hard decision to make and tell her. But we have just grown apart, we don't talk anymore and i would much rather have bridesmaids who are friends to me that i actually see and have a relationship with. I have a good friend Kristen who i was thinking of switching her out with...what do you think? Positive honest answers please...i know this is a hard hard sticky situation and i am so stuck on what to do right now....

I and my partner have been together for 6 years, lived together for 3, we own our place of residence and all our goods in common, we have a joint bank account, I am on his health insurance plan, neither of us has ever had the slightest desire to not be in the relationship, we a fully accepted into each other's families, and we have no wish to ever have children. Is there any logical reason for us to get married? Please don't as if I want to get married because that is not what I'm asking. I'm asking outside of my possible personal desire for a wedding is there a logical/symbolic etc. reason for us to marry?
