I understand the song is quintessential 80's and is nostalgic. Do you want a song to testify your love for each other or do you want to hang on to the 80's?
There are so many great love songs out there (even from the 80's). Listen to the lyrics and compare with you're other favorite love songs. That would be your best bet.
It's your wedding, so do what you want. Congratulations.

I've always thought of this as a father-daughter dance, not a first dance for a married couple. In my opinion, that would be a little weird. Personally, I like the slow version of "Heaven" by DJ Sammy because it fit my situation so well and was really cute, but it's completely up to you.

Actually it's come out that song was about a pedophile wanting to boink some little girl.
So I guess if that's the sentiment you want go ahead.
For you and your groom definately not.
For you and your dad, I'd look elsewhere but could work since sometimes people don't pay attention.

Not sure...try these songs or at least listen to them.".Lost In This Moment "by Big and Rich...or "When I look Into Your Eyes" by Bon Jovi...two beautiful songs.....

I like the song, but it doesn't seem appropriate for a wedding. The images I get in my mind when I hear that song don't coincide with a wedding.

How I feel is: It is YOUR day and nobody's else. If this is the Father-Daughter dance, then maybe you should run it by your father and see what his thoughts are. But if it is for you and your new hubby, and he is ok with it... Then just do it! Have fun!
