I'm not sure if they do this everywhere, but where I come from, during the grand march, the bridesmaids and groomsmen usually wear something that represents things the bride and groom like. As an example: If the groom likes hunting all the bridesmaids wear camouflage or orange vests and if the bride is a nurse, all the groomsmen wear scrubs. These are over the top of their dresses/tuxes.

I am in a wedding this weekend and we are trying to come up with something for us to wear during the grand march. We're trying to keep it cheap also. Some of the interests of the couple: they have a black lab dog, he works on cars and pours concrete, she's a nurse (but we're not sure if we can find scrubs big enough for some of the guys), they both like to drink (he drinks Jim Beam and she mostly drinks Bud Light), she's not really a girly girl, they are in a dart league, and I can't really think of anything else right now.

Keep in mind this has to be something that we can wear. Thanks!

My Fiance' and I are getting married in April. His father is deceased and his mother left at a young age. When we started dating, my family accepted him as their own. He knows how important the father-daughter dance is to me so instead of making me miss that opportunity he decided to ask my amazing grandmother to give him the honor....she accepted but we are having the HARDEST time finding a song that shows the respect, love and how grandmother made him feel at home, without sounding like I am marrying my brother or something!!! any ideas?

I engaged my ex-girlfriend with a $2500.00 worth of a diamong/gold rock. (I'm not bragging). As time went by I noticed she wasn't wearing the shiny ring. When I asked her she said it was uncomfortable due to monthly bloat. (~_~) The relationship wasn't going good at the time so she moved out. I later learned she had pawned the ring for $200. Should I demand it, pay the $200 or let it go?

My husband and I are planning on renewing our vows for our 5 year anniversary (April 08').

We were married at the courthouse because my husband was in the military and getting ready to ship out for a year so we had no time to plan a wedding.

We are renewing our vows to reaffirm our love for one another and be able to involve our family and friends.

I want the wedding that I have always dreamed of and I want to wear a simple veil (no blusher). My family says that it is ok because it is my day, but my friend feels that it is inappropriate.

I will also like suggestions on how to involve our 5 children in the ceremony. The boys will be ages 7,4,and 3. The girls will be 5 and 1.

I would also like to know if it will be ok to have attendants or not.

I want to wear a simple wedding gown with a small train.

I was invited to a themed shower where everybody is given a different time of day to shop for. I was given "bedtime."

Problem is, I already bought her two place settings before the invitations went out. And I got them on sale, and the store was an hour away, so I don't really want to return them. I didn't know about the theme. Should I return the place settings and get her a different gift? Is it very obnoxious to disregard the theme and give dishes when my time is bedtime?

I don't want to ask the hostess (her mother) to switch my "bedtime" to another time because I figure the invites went out already and that would cause problems if everyone wanted to switch.

BTW, I am the maid of honor.

I plan to send out wedding invitations soon. I have a few guests who have significant others but are not married or engaged to them. When I send the invitation, do I include the name of the significant other or just address them as "guest?"

My cousin has been cohabitating with his girlfriend, but do I address her by name on the invitation? They are neither married nor engaged, nor are planning on it anytime soon.

I have a cousin who has a pretty serious boyfriend at the moment but is not engaged. Should he be mentioned by name?

I also have a distant relative who has been dating her boyfriend for 12 years. He comes to all family events, they live together but are not engaged or married or plan to anytime soon. Should he be addressed by name given that I'm not inviting him directly but only through my distant relative?

I'm getting married on November 10th and am curious as to when I'm supposed to start/finish all the legal paperwork for becoming an offical married couple.

Of course I will get the marriage license done this week but I'm speaking about the name change, joing bank accounts, insurance policies, etc. Can I jsut wait and take care of all of that when I return from my honeymoon?

Also, does anyone know what all I have to do in order to change my name in the State of Florida? Just go to the DMV? What else do I need to remember to change? Car title, etc?

Thanks!

Does anyone have any experience with a cruise wedding or Sandal's resort wedding? If so could you fill me in with details. If you liked it or not?

-What Cruise line/ Sandal's Resort was it on?
-Who all did you invite? (family, friends, etc.)
-How did it turn out?
-Do you regret not having a bigger wedding at home?
-Was it really expensive?
- What time of year did you have it?

Any details would be appriciated!

Serious Answers only please! THANKS!

I am a white American male that is marrying an Indian women. She is very much Americanized but her parents and family are not. So for our wedding we basically have to have two caterers..one for Indian food and one for some sort of Italian/American food. I have been running into a loot of obstacles with this. Most reception halls will only allow one caterer (don't ask me why...it makes no sense to me). Anyone had an experinece like this? Or have any suggestions on how to make both cultures happy on our wedding day?

this is going to start around noon or 1.
I was thinking this:

12:00 - Set-up
12:30 - Guests arrive
1:20 - lunch is served
2:00 - toasts
2:15 - dessert
2:30 - Any extra thank yous chatting etc
3:00 Done.

Does that seem about right? I mean if it is done before 3pm that is fine, I just want to make sure I rent enough time at the facility.

I was going to use a bunch of orchids but now I am thinking of carrying just a few stems of something. I want the flowers to be the size of normal roses, but I don't like roses or calla lilies (too typical), daisies (too plain) and carnations (they remind my man of funerals). I would want them to be able to be in white, cream, or blue.

If so do they have sales? Right now they have no shipping. My wedding is in June but I think I might get them now. But looking around that would be the best deal right now.

My boyfriend and I have decided an year ago that we would get married. Now, his parents are forcing us to get married and I would so love to do that this December. I have a 3 week long vacation and Christmas would be so perfect time! So..what is the problem?

My elder sister is going through a rough time and in the conservative family I'm born in, I cannot get married before her. She is now seeing a guy and hopefully things will get good for her. But, I do not know if that will happen before Xmas. His parents have asked me couple of months back..if we atleast wanted to have an engagement party @ Xmas. Things were really bad then and I said no. I wanted to wait out for my sister. Now, i'm going chicken and want my engagement to happen. I have asked my boyfriend if this was still a possibility. He sternly says "NO. IT IS TOO LATE TO ARRANGE EVERYTHING AND INVITE EVERYBODY. " My parents are really worried about my sister and I don't know how to tell them either. Am I just being selfish?

Realizing that we all have to invite some people we really don't want to invite to our special day...where do you draw the line?

I have third cousins off in Nowhereland that I'm being told "definitely need to be invited" because they're Family. (Now, I'm not Italian, nor am I in any sort of "Family" if you catch my drift.)

I also have coworkers who assumed they're invited because we spend oh so much time working together (ahem, sarcasm). Now they're talking about coming with their dates and kids and...man...how did that happen? I haven't even sent out save the date cards yet!

So how can I tell these beloved coworkers and relatives who I've never met that they are not invited? And I can't use the excuse of "we're planning a small wedding" or "we have a budget". Word spreads fast with these people, and they already know this isn't the case.

Any ideas for getting the point across without coming across as rude? Brutal honesty works for me :)

Alright, so I've been thinking about proposing to my girlfriend. I just want an idea from anyone (even men) what would be though of as romantic to some of you. I'm not really good at that kind of stuff, but I want it to be special. Nothing really expensive, though.

If you need some information about her, then here. Your ideas in no way have to be related to her likes and dislikes, though:
She and I have a child together, who is just a few months old
Grew up Christian and is still a believer, going to church and etc.
Doing the whole proposal at a sporting event won't work, because since I had gotten a broken leg a year ago playing football, she said she wouldn't go to watch sports again.
She loves spontaneity, i.e. driving to random places, and, well, OK that one is pretty self-explanatory
Likes video games, not as much as I do, but she does work at a GameStop
Hometown is Philadelphia

...Those probably don't help much. Thanks to any answers given!!
