You have got to check out The Trellist. It is a florist shop but has the cutest "jungle" forest to hold small (less then 100) people in. It is really neat. http://www.trellisflorist.com

There are also a bunch of outdoor parks in the LA area. Helen Keller Park, FDR park, Athens Park. They are simple locations for a small wedding.

Check out http://www.eventective.com to look for a bunch of locations in your area and it will search based on type.

Why not give her an engagement ring, and give her time to plan the dream wedding? That'll give you both what you need. You should finish your education first. Once you get married, you're (both) responsible for everything and often "a job" takes precedence over your education.

Once you're married, you're married so why have a big wedding later?

Find a nice park, have it at someone's home, go to a wedding chapel... these are all affordable options.

Good luck & Congrats!

Try a local Arboretum. They usually allow wedding ceremonies for a great price. You can choose indoor or outdoor. I've having mine at a local arboretum, outdoors. They always have Pavilions and "Conference" Centers for your reception. They're wonderful because you are surrounded by flowers and nature! Mine also is going to be pretty small. 70 people max. We're a young couple who are not church people so we are getting married in the outdoors with the lovely nature =)

Good luck and congrats!
