the flowers we have chosen r red roses (of course) and calla lilies. with the exception of the bridesmaids who will b wearing simple black satin gowns and carry mainly white roses w/ red for a splash of color. we also decided to use the joined hearts as a theme

The first cake looks absolutely beautiful. I love it. As for the other two, that first one looks delicous. :D

The first one is gorgeous. Simple yet elegant. If you wanted something black on it, you could get a black ribbon and tie a piece around each tier.

The second one is cute too but not as formal as the first. I don't like the little marshmallow things and lollies sitting on each tier, that looks a bit much. I'm not sure how you might add black to it. I think it looks fine without it.

Sorry I don't like the third one at all. I think it is ugly, too over the top and tacky.

Don't like the fourth or first groom's cake either.

I like the last cake. It is very nice. You could put some calla lilies on the top to jazz it up a bit.

It depends on what look you are going for. For a formal wedding, the first would be best. For a more relaxed wedding, the second or last would suit.

The first cake with the roses is best. The second one is not my style at all and the third one looks very 1980's. I don't like the first grooms cake. It looks like a big mess, not pretty at all. The second one is kind of boring and looks homemade, not something you want when you are paying so much. The cake is the most photographed thing at a wedding so it should be pretty and the one with the strawberries might taste great but when people look at the pictures 5 years from now they will only remember that it was ugly.

I personally like the first cake with the swirls from the cinderella cake in black. I also really like the betterbatter cake. I'm at weddings every weekend and there always seems to be the same white cake just decorated differently. I love the idea of the betterbattter cake for the wedding cake. If you just have to go with the standard white cake then stick with the first novelty cake with the black swirls from the cinderella cake.

Pick one that will taste great and look better in the wedding album

The first cake you have listed I love and would do a black satin band around each layer to match the maids (either a ribbion or fondant). I think that the rest of the 3 cakes look a littel tacky but the first one is elegant and looks expensive. The red roses with perals just makes it POP. As for the other two I like the chocolate covered strawberrys it looks so good.

I am a cake decorator (side job) and I really like the idea of the first cake (http://www.novelty-cakes.net/i/c/red_ros...) but adding the heart and scroll work of the third cake (http://www.cinderellacakes.com/images/we...) but using black icing rather than white so it would be a white cake with black detail and red roses. Hope this gives you some ideas and good luck!

The first cake looks very classy. You can add black accents by providing black napkins and requesting that the caterer present the cake on a black surface (marble, glass).

Also, adding black candy on red bowls around the cake may add fun and impact. But. no matter what, remember not to sweat the small stuff.

Congratulations!

I like the first, third, and last ones the best. The first would be good if you're wanting a more simplistic/casual wedding without all the frills and whatnot. The third one I like alot too, but it's more elegant for a more fancy wedding. The last one I really like but I think the layers should be taller. On that one, you could make the dots in between the hearts black to go with your theme. Hope I helped!

Good luck!

the first one is really pretty andI agree with the poster that said you could use black accents (napkins, serving plate, etc).

I also like the one from Cinderella Cakes... You could easily add on the top and bottom layers a thin black ribbon, then on the middle layer a black ribbon maybe with a thin red (Don't know how well the red would stand out)...

the one with strawberries looks good but very seasonal!

What you're doing here is MAKING ME HUNGRY!!

Congrats and good luck.

Oooohhh! All of your choices look so yummy (I'm training for a marathon right now so EVERYTHING looks yummy!) but I think I like the first pic for your wedding cake. It's classy but also different. As for the grooms cake, I've gotta go with the first pic with the strawberries! It looks awesome!

Good luck on your big day!

My choices are definitely the one from www.cinderellacakes.com and the 1st groom cake from betterbatterbakery.com Damn they look good!!!

The 2nd novelty cake looks sort of tacky, and the first one is just too plain, along with the 2nd groom cake. Cake is cake though. They'll all taste good no matter which ones you decide to go with :)
