Chee we just walked down the aisle a little over 5 months ago. Although while my wife walked down the aisle and when we left together we had a friends son playing some classical music on his guitar. When we did have our first dance it was a song by Billy Joel "Just The Way You Are" that we had selected. We are both mature adults and believe that these words are just an honest expression of how we feel about each other.

Annies song by John Denver. On my husbands and I third date he said this was the song he would want us to dance to on our wedding. The song in sincere, loving, poetic with out all the drama as is in some songs.

"Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce
This is a classic song that most people know, but is rarely used for a first dance.
It is beautiful, sweet, and not too long! Also, it is a waltz so with ballroom lessons you could have one heck of a dance!

Ours was "It Had to Be You" by Harry Connick, Jr.:
It had to be you, it had to be you
I wandered around, and finally found
The somebody who could make me be true
Could make me be blue or even be glad
Just to be sad just thinking of you
Some others I've seen might never be mean
Might never be cross or try to be boss
But they wouldn't do
For nobody else gave me the thrill
With all your faults I love you still
It had to be you
It had to be you
It had to be you
It's the kind of song that is most special with the music, but have to say the lyrics really match us as well. Especially the had to be boss/never cross part! No matter what, people like us are going to be bossy or argue, but we really are perfect for each other!

well we didn't get to dance at our reception because my hubby hated to dance back then. But were going to change that for our 7 year wedding anniversary. ;) He's gonna take me dancing (weve been taking lessons). And I am going to request the DJ play "When You Say Nothing At All" By Alison Kraus. Good Luck..

In my life by the Beatles
The lyrics to that song suited us perfectly because we both knew we had had serious relationships before that we talked about. However we both knew that the one between us was the "right" one. I hope that makes sense.
"Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more "

The name of the song is "True Companion" I don't have a clue who it is by but I found it on i-tunes. We chose it because it is not just about our love now but down the road.
