What if you found out you were pregnant, in the middle of planning a formal renewal of vows? And your husband tells you he would now like to wait until you've had your 10th anniversary? Would you put a stop to the plans until the baby or babies were closer to two years old? Would you change your venue from formal to casual to accomodate toddler/toddlers? Opinions please.

I would go with his suggestion and wait until your tenth anniversary. If you like the plans that you have right now I would hold on to them and if the original plans don't accomodate young children then it would be best for you to change them so that your children will be happy and you and your hubby will be happy. Congrats on the pregnancy. I wish you the best of luck.

It wouldn't matter, since a renewal of vows is basically an anniversary celebration - it's not like you're planning 'another wedding'!!! It's just a small ceremony or blessing, followed by a dinner and party for friends and close family.
But your husband is right in this case, since vow renewals are traditionally done at the 25th anniversary, at least wait til your 10th.

I know this is an extreme example, but do not wait. My dad was always saying to mum (about getting me christened) "lets wait until we can afford a big party, lets wait" he died years later before I got christened.
Bring the renewal forward if it is close to your due time, but keep the babies and do it anyway. If you were already planning it you must have been together quite a few years already and may have already passed your own personal milestone, why wait for the 10 years..

It is usual to wait until a milestone anniversary like 10th, 15th 20th to do a renewal of vows. I say wait until 10 and make it special, you don't need the extra stress now anyway. Besides you are already married, so no need to rush!

I would probably wait until the 10 years and include the kids at whatever age they are at that point...

But it may depend... Why are you renewing your vows in the first place?

i would wait till you had a milestone wedding like your 10th or even wait till you 25th (that is more common) but if this is really important to you then go for it
