I ordered a dress online that was pictured with a sash (sold separately). I had assumed that the sash would come with some sort of instructions as to how to tie it, but that did not happen. I'm freaking out now, because I can't seem to get the bow to look halfway decent. Please help!

I've looked at the site that the first person mentioned, and, unfortunately, I wasn't helped by it :(

Perhaps if you show a picture of the knot you are looking for? Each one is going to work differently.

Your best be though is to go to a bridal shop and have them give you a quick lesson. Just bring the sash in and say something like "I bought this sash but I"m not sure how to tie it"

A small white lie of omission by not stating outright you purchased from an online store isn't going to hurt anybody.

You tie what is called a square knot. The funny thing is that most MEN know how to do this. If you can't figure it out, grab a guy that you know that has been in the military or boy scouts. I'll bet he'll know.

My dress had a sash. The day of the wedding my mom couldn't remember how to do it, so she grabbed her boyfriend and HE tied it perfectly.

Start with a square knot - wrap the sash around your waist (or wherever it goes) then Left over Right and through, then Right over left and through. that should give you a fairly flat easily untieable bow. You can also pull the loops out a little if you want, or you can make a big looped bow on top of that, if you want one.
