It's very important to me that I make the programs myself. I did the programs for my sis's wedding as a rush job because she kept changing everything, hers ended up being 8 1/2 x 11 pink photocopied paper that were folded width- wise and stapled together. While they turned out fine for her, she never planned on programs anyway, I want something more special.

I've printed out the draft version a number of times but still can't get a version that I like. Right now it's 8.5 x 11 paper folded length wise, but might reformat the draft so it could be cut to tea-length, but anytime I try, it still looks like I went the cheap route and printed myself. Does anyone know how or where or paper option that will make programs that I created look classy? Also, what I have now is 3 pieces of paper printed because there is alot I want to say, so the front- inside-back designs sold by wilton at acmoore are not sufficient. Even tried the 3 pages with a vellum cover, but they still look cheap & flimsy.

Thanks, but I don't like the look of parchment. Too ivory/gold for my color scheme. Also found special glossy ivory paper that I thought I could use for the cover but it looked too ivory and couldn't find inside paper to use too soften it. Dress is white, so roses will be champagne/ ivory colored, but other details should be white. Colors are white and burgandy.

I'm using resume paper, and instead of stapling them, I'm punching two small holes in the fold and threading ribbon through. I'm pleased with the prototype. I'm using 8 1/2 by 11 paper folded into 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 so that there's no cutting involved. Decent resume paper comes in a range of color. Try a local office supply store. You could also try places like paperdirect.com.

I can help you! First, go to paper-source.com
Click on how to > video > program kits
Watch the streaming video to see different ways of laying out your program. I chose a tri-fold using the paper-source 8 1/2 x 11 paper 80# cover weight paper. Its nice and heavy and printed very well, so long as you have a decent printer. Here is a pic of the programs I made:

On the inside, the left panel had a Thank You message from us, the middle panel had the Ceremony info, and the right panel had the Wedding Party and Special Thanks to the pastors and family musicians, etc.
Good luck!

I think fizzy stuff had some great advice.

Also, I think I've seen program kits at office supply stores, I believe it was Staples. Have you looked at different scrapbook papers? If you have a store with a lot of rubber stamping supplies, they may have some advice for you also.

If you decided to go with sheets with a vellum cover, make sure you have a pretty paper under the vellum, and I'd suggest two small holes tied with ribbon.

Have you tried printing the programs on parchment paper? Parchment is available at Staples or Office Depot or any office supply store. Parchment comes in many colors . . . not just ivory/gold. Last parchment I used was a blue/gray.

You don't say if the ceremony is at a church. Have you tried an actual church bulletin? I've seen blank church bulletins available at Christian book stores.

Why do you need programs, especially three pages of program? It's a wedding, everyone knows what's going to happen. You walk down the aisle, say your vows, walk back up the aisle. No one cares about the names of the bridesmaids and groomsmen. However, if you insist on the waste of money, go to Michaels or AC Moore, they have a ton of different papers. I'm sure you can find one that works for you. Papyrus has upscale paper.
