How can I let her off the hook without hurting her feelings and making her angry? She doesn't want to help with planning, getting ready, etc. I asked her the other day if she was still planning on being in the wedding and her response was, " I guess so"...I can't have a slacker.....but don't want to make her angry either. HELP@!!!!!!

My fiance and I are trying to choose our wedding rings. We are on a budget and so we are wondering if it is worth paying extra for 18 carat instead of 9 carat. We are mainly concerned with whether or not there would be a difference in appearance.

My cousin is one of my bridesmaids. I have already had to ask one bridesmaid to leave the wedding because the two of them were so nasty (i.e. making the comment in front of everyone in the bridal store that if I was going to insist on having my wedding outside that they shouldn't have to dress up and should be allowed to wear flip flops) that I left every wedding discussion in tears. I can't kick my cousin out of the wedding and whenever I try to talk to her about it she shifts the blame to me. Things are so bad that I am considering eloping to reduce the stress. How do I get her to stop ruining my wedding?

she happens to be developmentally and physically delayed in all areas. sweet girl, but she has no concept of what we're going to be doing. She had a fit when my fiance told her the 3yr old brother won't be there. She expects to be the flower girl and walk down the aisle, but there won't be flowers and no aisle. she's likely to throw a tantrum and begin whining at some point.she's expecting me to wear a white dress and that certainly won't be happening. she had only the image of what she's seen on tv and movies and expects our ceremony to be the same and it will be far from it.
I don't think she should be there, but it's not just my day, either. How do I tactfully express my concerns to my fiance without sounding like an insensitive jerk?

If his parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner, and only the rehearsal dinner, should I put them on the wedding invitations? Also, I don't know if my parents or his parents will end up paying for things later, but as of right now we are footing the wedding by ourselves. Should we put parents on the invites? I don't want to make them feel excluded or anything.

We want to have our wedding at the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens, but they only allow you 10 chairs. Our guest list is closer to 50. Would it be acceptable to ask guests to stand for a 15 minute ceremony?

I would like to know what kind of wedding favors you guys are doing. I don't want to spend too much money on them but I also want them to be unique and special for everyone.

We're inviting roughly 175-200 guests and expecting 125-135 to attend. The wedding will be nice, but simple--buffet dinner, very small favors, etc. We're a little older (28 and 29), so we have a lot of basics, but we'd like to have a few nice things--not expensive, necessarily, just things that match and don't have stains and all of the other issues you have when you're two graduate students who've bought everything secondhand over the years. I want to give people options, so that even if they're shopping last-minute, there will still be a variety of items left on our registries, but I also don't want to look greedy. Honestly, I don't care if people buy us gifts, but I know they'll want to, just like I want to buy gifts for my friends and family members because I love them and not because they're expecting it. My question is about numbers, but, in a larger sense, I want to know how to make our registry reflect these ideas. Suggestions?

my brother and his fiance are getting married...apparently the bride's side says that there is a tradition where the groom's parents pay for the dress....have you ever heard of this ridiculous tradition?

My husband and I got married in a courthouse five years ago. On our tenth wedding anniversary he wants us to have a real wedding. I know it does not take five years to plan a wedding, but I would like to know when i should start planning the wedding. What is a good amount of time to give the planning?
