Like not seeing the bride in her dress before the wedding? Hmmm.. I can't think of any others right now, but I am sure there are some more! Did you follow tradition or did you do things your own way?

Me and my sister are close and I really wanna do something special for her to show her that I am happy for her and to let her know how great of a friend she's always been to me or something along thoes lines but I just don't know and song like that. If I could, I would hire a song writter or something b/c this is really important to me. I just need to find a song that can relate to my situation.

My friend just got engaged and I want to get her and her fiance a congrats gift...I usually do a gift that consists of four things...something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...I have been friends with her for nearly 20 years so I have stuff that would be old but that would only mean something to me and my friend and I want a gift for the OLD part of the poem that would mean something to BOTH of them (like a picture of me and her is only meaningful to her...not so much to him)...for example, for my other friend, i did the same thing and I got them the "wedding singer" movie because it is about marriage and is set in 1985. But this new couple already has a ton of movies so I am sure they are covered in that area...Any good ideas for an inexpensive OLD gift for the 2 of them? I have new, blue, and borrowed covered...THANKS!

We do have renters insurance, but we just selected a very minimal policy from a not-so-reputable company as a requirement from our apartment complex. Is it best to go to another insurance company for my ring only or just get a rider on our renters policy?

My cheating husband sued me for divorce. He failed to appear at any hearings including the final hearing. All stipulations were signed by both of us that included satying married until the new year (so the diseased cheat could save on taxes) prior to the final hearing. My lawyer suggested I sue him because his absence might delay divorce. I did. It is the new year, am I divorced? Is there some document I have to sign?

My husband and I got married about 4 months ago in front of a judge. We decided to get married then and save up for some money for a wedding later. We have planned our wedding for September and I have already found a gown that I want. Since we are already married is he allowed to see me in the dress. When we were married in front of the judge he didn't see the dress I wore, so can he see it now?

My husbands adult nephew came to our house for Christmas and we took him and his girl friend and their baby out to a really nice restuarant and bought breakfast for them everyday that they were here. We got a new BBQ for Christmas and he wanted me to cook something for them on it. I said I was busy with Christmas and would not be able to. I thought it was really tacky of him to expect that and I also thought they could have gotten McDonalds one morning of the stay just to be nice. He gave us a cheap Sutter Homes smallest bottle of wine as a gift. Do you all think that was rude??????? Thanks for your input.

I've been doing a little wedding dress shopping and was wondering if I should allow my fiance to view the dresses online with me. I know he shouldn't see me in the gown before the wedding, but should I also avoid viewing them online with him?
I just want to make sure I can find a dress we'll both like.

Thanks!

My boyfriend does not want to buy me an engagement ring, he says that he does not want to spend $ on one, and that I should use the ring my grandmother gave me as an engagement ring. He says it's stupid that the man has to buy the woman a ring, and why can't I buy him an expensive ring instead. My mom says that if we use my grandmother's ring, that my boyfriend would not be giving me anything from himself, I would just be using a ring that I already had. I feel like if he really loved me he would save up to buy one, and that he should pick it out himself to make it special, I don't care the cost, just that he would put in the effort, is that wrong?

My boyfriend and me are going to Scotland at the end of Jan and we'll be staying near Gretna. We've been joking that we'll come back married and we've always said we'd elope. I've been looking for info on Gretna Green but it doesn't seem to be as exciting or spontaneous as I've always thought it was supposed to be. We thought we could just turn up, drag our witnesses off the street and get wed. Has anybody eloped to Gretna before or know anything about it?

My fiancee and I are planning a courthouse wedding and going out to dinner with our families afterwards. However, this plan is contingent on my dad, who agreed to pay for our honeymoon. If he backs out because we're not having a traditional wedding, we won't be able to afford to pay for dinner and a honeymoon.

So, I'm thinking that we could go to city hall with our 2 witnesses, take them out to dinner, and use the rest of our money for a honeymoon to Orlando, FL. But, what would we say to our families who were left out? I know that they're looking forward to a big wedding, but we don't want a lavish affair, nor can we afford one.

My husband and I got married almost 4 years ago with a nondenominational faith with only witnesses there. There was no romantic proposal, big dream wedding or being walked down by my dad. My husband just proposed to me again, but this time it was perfect. Now, I want to plan my wedding but as if it was my first. Any suggestions on how to approach this with engagement announcements, wedding invitations?? I would like to try and have some explanation to why the new wedding...
